KT is an gem, its great that there is an exception to the mainstream barrage of processed talent in the form of this wonderful person. She is such a good influence. I love her too..
HAHA!!!! Love it when she says 'God- i was totally clueless and a bit of a twat'! KT's just amazing- not only at what she does but has a brilliant personality too :)
@funkymonkeylovergirl It seems to me she has definitely switched to too many Americanisms to my half-Scottish ear, it's clearly not like Annie Lennox or Sean Connery or other mild Scots who never gave the basics of their accents up. KT really sounds a bit like Sheena Easton to me. :-)
Och nae... west coast o' Scottie... that probably explains it all... never been tae Fife or about there... Gordon Brown has a POSH accent, like the Morningside accent, and that tae me is English... The Big Yin? Apart from the odd thing of being a Celtic fan, he's a true Scot tae me. I may be too "glaswegian-ish", probably, though Ayr is my hometown. This means I might always be so wrong about accents o' Scottie... But... the Proclaimers sound much different (continues below)
...from this lass... and they're fae Fife too, am I wrong? Auchtermuchty... well, they're absolutely Scottish... she says "goes" the way a posh Estuary Englishman would say, come on!!!
Me? I am half-Scottish... Ayr... d'ye know? Listen, I didnae say it is NOT AT ALL Scottish, I said KT Tunstall often sounds to me as if she's americanising her accent, and though I obviously understand she must be from Scotland, well, this one is not top of my list as a Scottish accent. Billy Connolly is Scottish, that's what I mean. Gordon Brown sounds totally English, i.e... KT often sounds American-ish, not as much as Sheena Easton, but enough fae me, aye?
Don't discuss with me if you use words such as moron or whatever. If you keep doubting me there's no sense in us corresponding. RESPECT ME! If you do, I won't call you lad, although I do it friendly with everyone. Not my fault if you don't know where Alloway is... that's halfway from where I live. I'm half ITALIAN, and you can also check my VIDEOS (check 'em, come on...), if you don't believe what I say, but what would that mean, if you keep NOT RESPECTING ME, LAD? Be polite, at least.
And we all talk about BonnIE Scotland (what's that "Y"? Are you Irish???), and again, it's us joking about our land yet feeling so (sae) proud of it, our "dear AULD Scottie", and I don't f..... care what ye think of this, lad. If you can't get friendly jokes and expressions, well, is it my fault? Most of all, I DO care you're trying to discuss my Scottishness, but I can't send you a copy of my IC, soz... So keep yer Fife or wherever fae yerself, but respect me FIRST OF ALL. Okay?
Lingustic expert? Little respect for others? Nae, you didnae really get me... Okay, let tehm accent vary everywhere, whocares, I'm still free to express what I feel, am I not? I am. You, instead, quit calling other people morons and doubting about their lives. Please. Cheerio.
I mean, it OBVIOUSLY is Scottish on the whole, but what about "six hours" pronounced in that US way? And what about all those "r"s? Is she Irish or American??? Where are rolling "r"s??? And "deep"... what's that? Sassenach??? Let's stop here...
I don't really think you can even discuss my Scottishness, lad, it would be like me discussing yours, anyway you could be WHOEVER... Take yer prejudice down, please, accept the way I speak and who I am, otherwise we're going nowhere here... Yer wrong: all of US in Ayr keep using "och nae", most of all when we're joking about ourselves... irony, got it? BTW, I live a few miles away from my dear Brig O Doon. :-) Lucky me.
