I was thinking how good it looked the whole time, and then when you focused on the choice to go for a round headlight I thought to myself "kinda looks like a Honda now" and then when you did that Honda bit at the end I burst out laughing
the side air ducts almost make it look like a MT-10. Given the price, you could go completely nuts with a std or eco 1290 by adding a bunch of KTM power parts and maybe even a set of BST CF wheel and still come in cheaper. That said, still a very nice bike.
To be fair if I bought a brabus version of bike I would not do any changes to it, because it's kinda special. Also the brabus exhaust looks cool :). Obviously I would do mods if the bike wasn't special model like that.
It looks cool . But if I want a beautiful retro design I go for the honda CB 1000 R . And if I want an agressive looking bike I take a ktm 1290 superduke
Yep, I saw the CB1000R in there from the very beginning. No need to burn all that cash when Honda already provides a pretty awesome alternative that's exclusive enough on its own, but with only 154 units out the collectors probably already crashed the KTM website. Well done mate ✌️

Wow. I kind of don’t see the point when there is the “standard” SDR plus the EVO with all the bells and whistles. I have a 2020 SDR - these bikes are made to be ridden, not sit in garages as showpieces.
changing the headlight a very bad idea. most guys love the distinctive Ktm Design. I think putting that budget into actual performance would be a smarter option, as the SDR Design is why we love this bike.
Holy shit I could never have guessed that brabus starts making motorcycle modifications too! I hope there will be brabus versions of other brands too in the future. This is just really cool :D
Brabus and AMG are well known tuners. The way MV AGusta sells out with limited production versions is what Brabus going for. Look how fast the Super Duke RR sold out in 50 minutes.
FAO MotoBob... Thinking out aloud... Would love to see Amazon Prime do a motorbike version of the Grand Tour headed by Richard Hammond and MotoBob. Touring the world and setting ridiculous but entertaining challenges, bike reviews, history of bikes etc would in my opinion be a hit show for sure!
I love the Super Duke R , its an awesome bike and a complete riot to ride however I was never a fan of the Insectoid front light, the round one on the Brabus version is a huge improvement , KTM should take note and offer it as an option.
I knew there was a reason I really loved this bike...because I have a cb1000r 2018 parked in my garage haha doing the side by side they really do look similar but I paid way less than that even including the cost of transforming all the panels into carbon, having a custom exhaust built and tuning the engine lol
So glad that this was not the husky 1301 ! The vitpilen is a true beauty and if husky ever do get to do a 1301 then I hope they make it just as beautiful...not this chunky brabus thing

Personally I think Lamborghini nailed it better with the Diavel… But this is still very good looking and will no doubt become very collectible with age.
Sooooo…. Double the price for some cnc-machined parts, a few bits of carbon fibre, and the word ‘Brabus’ repeated roughly 62,000 times across the bike? No thanks. I’d buy the super duke R Evo, do a respray to my preferred colours, then add a bunch of custom parts including performance parts, and still save plenty of cash.
Another exotic bike that will end up in some rich kid/rich old bloke's collection to stare at it all day or night. It might move to one of the tax havens like Dhubai. It made me smile when you mentioned heated grips and seat, as if someone will be foolish enough to ride it on the salty UK winter roads. Cooled grips and seat to ride the bike in the Dhubai dessert, yes. Good investment though, because the price will go up as quick as a space-X rocket pushes a sattelite in to orbit.
Kinda looks like a cross between MT10 and CB 1000 R. I'll take the wheels, seat, foot pegs and shifter, maybe the exhaust. They can have the rest. Everything else, I would keep looking like KTM 1290 EVO.
No way in hell would I be a prospective customer for a motorcycle like this, but I do think that aesthetically, it's a substantial upgrade. Looking at the other comments either you like the KTM look or you don't. I don't.

The design is kinda cool, but not $35k kinda cool. It’s like they where stretching a bunch of expensive parts to put on a naked bike. Heated seats? Those bar-end, up-side down mirrors? What a trip. Not my bag, baby.
I like that base model with the characteristic _KTM_ lights but with that... It's like a meh model. I think it's the answer to _BMW_ and it's _M lineup_ like the _BMW M1000 RR_ and others which will came and _MV Agusta_ and their special editions. I only disagree with the affirmation that _"heated seat isn't necessary on a bike like that"_ because in a season like now here in South Europe in the early morning is (or can be very) cold and during the day is hot and so on... The rest of the motorbike is a huge masterpiece but can only say congrats to the owner and hope they will enjoy a lot of the adquisition.
A bit of a wet squib. Yeah it has Brabus looks and yeah the SD1290R is blisteringly fast but a Brabus is ment to have more torque, more horsepower and bigger brakes than the base vehicle. This doesn't.
I just don't get the idea why an automotive tuning company like brabus has to do this. Maybe they observed their target clients has turned into motorcycle enthusiast. Considering the increase on motorcycle demands in the market
