What an epic test-drive! Actually you are certainly skilled enough for riding it: humility is the most important skill of the alive rider, and you have had the humility to think that it wouldn't have been reasonable to go full throttle with it.

I like how you are not over confident but nervous and reallistic about your riding abillities, it shows that you're an intelligent person ;)

Very nice review. It's an amazing machine. Way overkill here in the USA where speeds can get to 80 mph without getting pulled over, perhaps in some places while passing. People cruise at 65-75 most of the time. KTM really know how to make a machine. Just take brilliant creative engineers and design whatever you want. That's KTM. Very entertaining video Cager.

You are so correct when you said in the video that unless your used to litre class bikes, the power is awesome. I remember my first 1000 cc bike ride and was awe inspired having ridden mainly 750's. I remember the arm pulling rush while the scenery seemed to streak by at an alarming rate. I presently own a 2013 Concours 14 and I know you have tried that bike out and know what it can do :)

thank you cager for this very honest review. i understand your feelings when u are accelarating. in normal case, i drive an 57 hp bike ( an old honda ntv ) and in september last year, i rent an yamaha r6 for about 5 hours. at the first time going on the german autobahn and accerate from 70 to 120 in second gear, i think: omg, hell opens up. i like the style of your reviews, because you drive and test the bike like i will do.

by the way, my 3 year old nephew keeps telling me "I want to watch the orange bike Uncle Otis" so I put on this and he was laughing his ass off and said "I want one Uncle Otis"

It's an incredible bike, and it doesn't feel the slightest bit daunting, until you want it to, and that's why I'm in love with it, I can only find 2 bad things about it, the seat height is high (for me, I'm only 155cm, I can just touch the ground) and there isn't 1 parked in my garage (yet :D) I absolutely love the seating position while riding, and was just wondering? are you good mates with ur local dealer for him to let you take out all these bikes for test rides? great vids mate :)

One day those crazy fools at Ducati gave a Panigale to me for a test-ride, even though I am a beginner rider. It probably felt very similar to me as that Super Duke to you. Just insanity. I wasn't sure I would survive the next corner, but I couldn't stop either. Also, I never felt as cool on a bike as on that Ducati. So i think you should test-ride some of those bikes. Panigale, GSX-R, big CBR etc.. would be great. Some people also use them for commuting. ( Or just test-ride a Suzuki GSR, which is what I own. ;) ) Anyway, cool video. I wouldn't buy the KTM for that price, because it has all the tech that makes it awesome, but not enough of sex-appeal. Imho. Also I do not want to kill myself on that thing.

It did seem as if you was was riding slower, when you said that, I was thinking the same, going by the things around you, not so much the speedO, could be it has a fast speedO, to keep test riders from going too fast ? It would be nice to have a GPS on board, just to add to the review, how on, or off the speed really is, having away to clamp it on each bike would be the hard thing. Would be great to be able to test ride new bikes. Lucky guy.

Man, you should try The kawasaki zzr 1400! Ten minutes will be enough for you to Be inlove with the machine, AND then you've got a problem; you have to have it! That is what happened to me, and I tried it On a rainy day, I Soaked two riding suits, and rode 100 km! And I bought it!

the super duke R is a bit more torquey than the 1198 RC8R although the 1198 is still a monster. Just goes to show you how awesome this bike truely is. The king of nakeds

wow that one is tuned down.. they are listed at 192HP here in the US :( The RC8 is actually only an 1190 with 173HP instead of the 1290. In road mode you are actually only getting about 148HP from what I read, and a much more progressive throttle, in sport you get the full 190 with an easier throttle and in rain it should be limited to 100. The race version of the bike pumps out 195HP I believe. I wonder if they are saying something with the coffin shaped mirrors? those things are fuckin awesome :P Told you it'd scare you shitless.. glad to see I was right.. I've been laughing my ass off this whole video... Man I'd love to put custom hand made exhaust on one of those things and really let that Vtwin sound come out.

Cager your too funny when your adrenaline gets going from the speed and acceleration of these fast machines.The bike weighs 417 pounds and the FZ09 weighs 414 pounds though on the KTM you have a much bigger stronger motor. I know a vlogger in the states who traded in his 2014 FZ09 for a KTM 1290 Super Duke R and he says it's a much faster,more horsepower and torque machine.It will pull your arms out of your sockets he says.He is very happy with his KTM.

Obviously this is the 1st time this bloke has been on a really fast bike. Nice video , though. I am not criticising him.

Proper bike, best avoided by the inexperienced by the look of it. I'll stick with my NC750 (and my licence) for the foreseeable future thanks.

hi nice review , after seeing this and other reviews I got one in orange and love it , what a bike, u can ride through town and it don't feel like 1300 cc , then u open it up and its like a spitfire lol :)
