@jonomasonILoveU I was choosing between the underbelly remus or the ixl exhaust. I' love how remus does it that you don't need the adapter to bolt on the passenger peg in which how ixl does it. Hard to decide because til now nobody posted video on RU-vid on how remus exhaust sounds like. All I see is for the ixl exhaust
Stock looks better and sounds similar. On the other hand, If you really wanted a difference in sound then you could have instead gotten the external exhaust by Remus
@@mrbear3888 Yeah, even with the Akrapovič exhaust, this sounds more or less the same. You should try the "KTM Remus Slip-On Silencer Black 125/390 Duke 2024", it has a separate chamber to replace the underbelly and then for a slip on, that way you can use any slip on of your choice and still the bike won't get awfully loud. Unfortunately, that is not available in my country, so I'll have to wait for local ones to arrive. Cheers! 😇
@@mrbear3888yeah, it sounds better then the exhaust the bike came with, but not enough of an improvement for the price tag. Although, it’s lighter, it looks way better and sound better at least a bit. Isn’t there a silencer that can be removed like on the side exhaust slip ons? All so on the 2023 and older you can hole saw cut the baffle out of the oem exhaust and it sounds awesome. I wonder if there is a way to modify the 2024 stock exhaust?
Bro are you sure it has a removable DB killer? Like it seems like it still has the db in soo maybe try removing (if possible) to see if the sound is any different👀
@@mrbear3888 yeah i understand, thanks tho, this video will help many of us new gen 3 duke 390 owners to understand the difference. Keep it up, looking forward to some great content, Cheers ! Ride safe.
@@mrbear3888I see a ixil side mount slip on . Don’t know what the ixil sounds like. I prefer the under belly if they can make it sound better. I can’t hear the new exhaust as good as you can live, but if it’s that lackluster I would try and get my money back if possible. I think here in the U.S. this exhaust cost $930.00 with tax. Thank you for your video. FYI Bagoros has some awesome 390 duke parts! Tail tidy, sliders etc.
I think this is a nice upgrade. It looks nicer, is lighter, is stainless steel. An exhaust system upgrade does not need to make your ears bleed to be worth it.
Damn, some of these comments are brutal. I’ve done an exhaust upgrade video on the previous gen 390 duke. The secret to better volume is the chamber delete. Competition Werks sells a mid-pipe that deletes that horrible chamber. From there back you have the flexibility to pick whatever muffler that sounds best for your ears. Granted the CW mid-pipe was for last year’s model, but from what I can see in your video shots, I think it could fit. Keep your eyes out for the latest products. The camber delete doesn’t remove any catalytic converters so your ECU will stay happy.. While you’re still breaking in the engine, don’t be tempted to hear your exhaust scream… yet! Good video.😎👍
@@impreza99rs I don't plan to do it on this but the 390 is one of the bikes on my list for next! Every part that goes on this 125 goes onto the 390...but who knows what I'll end up with, could be 690 SMCR or something completely different 🙃
Im a new owner too, its hard to find parts/aftermarket specially exhaust that would look like the stock one. I was about to pull a trigger on this akra too then i saw your vid... great vid keep it ip
Yeah it does look better, but it's a lot of $$$$ to shed for the carbon tip look. Hopefully we get a better sounding aftermarket exhaust soon. And sometimes audio from the video doesn't justify the sound.
Es verdad el mismo sonido tarrudo y tanto trabajo crei q iva tener mejor sonido y eso q es 390 casi 400 definitivamente estos motores de 1 Cilindro siempre van a sonar igual
I'm cheap, I'd just cut the OEM stock box open and drill bigger holes in the baffles and weld it back up =P, that new one doesn't sound $$$$ better than the stock one
I can't even suggest drilling out the rivvets to remove the DB-killer like on other Akra pipes, because it seems like this slip-on's tiny exhaust port is all part of the system and it's not a DB-killer. Sad days when aftermarket companies also just wanna be politically correct.
I have a Duke 125 from 2022 with Akrapovic without DB Killer, I can tell you it's a big difference compared to the stock one ! And with my K&N filter, it's sound even better, too bad the price is so high for a little difference on the 2024 model. At least, it look better as you said, Ride safe and have fun man :)
Will you add the cat delete from 2023 model i Saw a vidéo on RU-vid and it was confirmed Yesterday when i went to Husqvarna to see the svar 401 2024. So you Can try
I have an Akra full system carbon racing line on my R3. I Spent around 2 Lacs on full system and piggy back ECU ( Race tuning )along with free flow air filter. one can only gain around 8% -10% when compared to the stock setting. so you spend around 40% of the machine cost and gain just 8%. Not worth unless you do track days every weekend.
I don;t know ANYTHING about KTM which is why after hearing that Metallic Sound puts me off buying a NEW 390, You would;nt hear that Sound with any other MAIN Brand like Honda/Yam/Kaw. IF anyone KNOWS what it is and it;s a simple Service [Tappets] Tightening Part i would Buy one next week.
Very significant small improvements since this is a sound compliant oem muffler.. the biggest change will be the weight which will make it fell quick.. best is the keep its stock and use the ind map, with the ambient temp sensor turned off ! Its pretty quick if you run 100octane !
I had bought Remus sports exhaust from ktm showroom for my Duke 390 gen3 which sounded same as stock as well it cost so much and it sounded shit was really disappointed, then again I bought an Indian exhaust called "Barrel exhaust" now it’s better taking out DB Killer sounds much much better than any high end exhaust for Duke 390 gen 3.
ngl paying £800 for that and still having all that weight in metal, and it looks barely any different, i'd be furious if i didn't see it before i bought it
