Always remember to stand up in the attack position ,ease up on your grip and send it! just bought the same bike after years in the dirt. Can't wait for new bike day in a few months. cheers from USA

congrats! I've still not found a downside 3k miles in, it's a real multi tool of a bike and gives lots of off-road confidence...safe sending buddy!

Good ride. It is all mental, how your mind approaches it. You did well. Wheel spin is normal off road. KTM now owns CFMoto who has made engines for KTM for years.

Handle it like a champ 🤘 Not sure if you mentioned before, have you a full tech pack, rally mode etc... Also in which mode and settings were you now. Because im rally mode you have 9 seatings of a slip so you can fine tune it and just smashed it up hills like this with no fear of braking hard the rear 😎

I haven't played with that too much yet! I do find the standard off-road mode pretty good, and although this type of track is challenging for me, I think I'd only start tweaking slip etc if I was on something like a fast flowey track, or super technical where you might need to break out the old wheelie!

Ive recently bought, the same bike.... 2023 790 Adventure. I also have a Himalayan. I do plan to go (mild) off roading on the KTM. I do a bit on the Himalayan too. Quick question, do you lower your tyre pressures? If so, to what pressure? KTM recommend 26psi i believe?! 🤔 Good videos too, be safe, ride safe and have fun, Grumps

Many thanks for the kind words. Love a Himalayan, was lucky to across the Rann of Kutch on one of those (a riding place I'd thoroughly recommend). Because of the whole tubeless thing, I've resisted tinkering with pressures. Ultimately I think the real improvement would just be better tires, but that is also tricky because I do a fair bit of onroad mileage too...

I had an engine warning light come on last month, which was clearer by the dealer and hasn't happened since. The ignition was firing the electronics on first, but a small wiggle of the key would. The dealer was helpful, basically if it happens again and I can record it, they'll swap out the ignition system under warranty. Other than that no issues, still running really well and no sign of rust or wear at 2k miles.

@@nomading_in damit that isn’t good at all

@@gw2shibarashi674 it doesn't bother me a huge amount, as I don't feel stuck without options. With so many electronics and sensors at play, you do have to consider there's going to be some gremlins here and there. For me, I love the electronics it offers so the compromise is ok.

First comment! 😂 This or v strom 800 DE?

Comes down to budget and dealer network I'd say. If you have a good dealer for either brand, that's always a good start, as you'll need some support with new platforms like these. The KTM was a fair bit cheaper for me here in the UK, but I know in some places the 800 is more equal.

@@nomading_in here in Hellas the ktm costs 11750€ while the suzuki costs 12195€... I know nothing about the dealers here... I am afraid of the reliability of ktm... This is my main concern... 😭

@@KyriakosSoul that's a good price for the 800, but if you're buying on finance, that's where that total price can really differ, by the end, so be careful of that. There's different types of reliability in my mind. Likelyhood of an unlucky unique to your bike issues that will result in going back to the dealer. I've seen this story a few times with KTMs. I'm an actual adventurer, and I'm slamming this bike into hard terrain every day over very long miles...you'll probably find this KTMs limits. You've got a good build, but after 10k miles or so you have a major fault. I don't think this is likely with either bike. The bike basically needs replacing or selling after 60k mile. Obviously the Suzuki is going to have less issues when it's older. So what I consider is for this bike: do I think it's going to have major issues that the dealer wouldn't resolve within 50k miles (about the time I'd be considering buying something else)...no, I think, unless I'm unlucky this bike will give me few issues in that timeframe, and I'll have great fun riding it. If I was never going to buy another bike again, I'd think twice, but for a bike I'll keep for as a medium term thing...happy with the risk. It's better to be happy before you commit though. I wasn't worried about the KTMs reliability going in, so I have stress free ownership so far. If you're feeling a bit panicked every little issue will stress you out. In that case, the 800 will help, even if you wouldn't enjoy riding it quite so much ;-)

@@KyriakosSoul Hallo my friend. I had the same dilemma. Suzuki goes with the reliability for sure and is less beautiful, KTM is more powerful, more beautiful. a little bit cheaper (vstrom800 needs extra bars at 400euro, ktm has the big tank at the bottom for basic protection). Suzuki has more service dealers in athens, KTM has only 3 official (fanmoto, MOTOM, Thomas Ntais). Suzuki has 4 years (!) warranty, KTM gives 2 years. Logic says Vstrom, heart says KTM, I am going for the KTM because i will also keep my xmax 300, if i had to choose only one for everyday use and trips, i would definitely go for the yellow 800DE.
