This dude was at KTVU for 43 years? So he worked with Dennis Richmond, Elaine Corral, Faith Fancher, Rob Roth, etc... Definitely a legend...

Mark Ibanez to me was a true professional sports broadcaster. Since I was a kid I would be glued to the TV when he covered the 49ers. It was his joy he obvious showed covering the team. Congratulations sir!

Oh wow! Mark I literally grew up with you! I still have a very fond memory of you visiting and speaking at the old location Alameda Boys & Girls Club and you told us you’re not allowed to outwardly say “hi” to us when you would be on air, but you’d tug on your ear as a sign. My parents let me stay up late that night and I watched you sign off and sure enough, you touched your ear 🧡

Ya, Channel 2 dropped the ball on this one, in letting him go. He is a straightshooter, expresses his joy of his job in his demeanor, and had the BEST 40+ years this Bay Area sports world could offer! Imagine, 9ers superbowls, Giants n A's World Series, Warriors championships, Sharks playoffs, college ball and all the stuff in between. He got to go to all of these! What a job to have. And, seeing this sendoff with his home n work family is testament to what a good guy he is, on and off the air. Well done, man. Thanks for the positive attitude and the smiles. Ya done good.

About 28 years ago was eating sushi dinner in alameda and he and wife were at table nearby. A really handsome man, he kinda glowed, and I’ve been watching him since I was 12 years old. Good Luck you deserve a break now, enjoy w your beautiful family :)

I grew up in Monterey, Ca. watching Mark on KTVU Channel 2. Always, always, ALWAYS a consummate pro. He'll be missed but man he definitely earned the right to ride off into the California sunset. Happy Retirement Mark.
