Ku Ba Ku by Wahdat Rameez 

Most listeners of the king of ghazal, Mehdi Hasan, will tell you that his composition of Parveen Shakir's poetry in raag Darbari is one of the most beautiful and difficult ghazals ever performed by Khan sahib. Many have tried to emulate the King, but so few have been able to reproduce this masterpiece in raag Darbari and yet still give it an authentic and unique feel. On a hot September night in Model Town, Lahore, one of my favorite Pakistani singers, Wahdat Rameez did precisely that. By the end of his performance, I could not discern whether I was perspiring due to the heat or the power of his performance. Take a listen and see if like me, Wahdat doesn't take your heart away!
