This is Chinese night Market.. Because they using yellow canopy. Pretty sure probably they selling non halal product.. Is not your fault.. Next time if you want to go night market make sure they use white or blue canopy because its sign for halal market and organic products. Hope you enjoy your travels 👍✌️

You’re Muslim right, better for you to go to Malay night market Becareful on Chinese night market, not everything is halal there Even the banana or cempedak they fried is not guaranteed halal Cause you might not know what type of oil they are using Unless there are halal certificates which i doubt If you go to food court most of the vendors there having halal certificates I saw one vendor selling muslim food using Indonesian girl which i think is not muslim at Jalan Alor Next to the shop a vendor selling barbecue pork Becareful, mostly Jalan Alor vendor are own by a non muslim Chinese, and some of them using this tactics to pull muslim tourist they even put a muslim name and a couple indonesian workers wearing hijab…

Wow.. you are a polyglot.. "Chempedak" is the smaller brother of "nangka" (jack-fruit). I had never witnessed a fried "nangka" yet but eaten as a fruit. I was taught to eat the fruit fresh or as fritters only, but keep the seed aside for further boiling with salt, than it'll taste similar to a hard boiled cashew-nuts with a different texture.. 😘👌

Normally when people eat. fried chempedak. ( cousin of jackfruit) we just eat the yellow part only, because the seed is not fully. cooked…some. people do eat it though but you’ve to peel. the skin of the seed first. The seed is good. to be eaten if you boil it until soft and it taste like potato.
