Kubinka Tank Museum - German Tanks, Artillery, APC

Short walk through hangar where German tanks, artillery and personnel carriers from WWII era stored at Kubinka Tank Museum in Moscow, Russia.
Video is little bit shaky and my narration is far from god, even comprehensible. But broken English and heavy accent adds just right charm to it.

This probably is the most complete collection of WW2 German armor in the world. They even have Maus.

The hull of one Maus and the gun off another that was destroyed were put together to make the only compete Maus that is present in this video.

Sadly the interior of that Maus is completely hollow, the whereabouts of the engine is unknown.

Most of Kubinka's tanks are now at Patriot Park, 20 mins back towards Moscow. I got to see both Parks but believe Kubinka might well be closed now for the much bigger PP sited where the Tank Biathlon and much more - Russian Aircraft, modern tanks and weapons of terrorist groups that have been captured etc etc. You will need more than a day and if tourist, use Gett taxi's - Eng speaking drivers who will wait all day and are super helpful.

only one maus exists which is obviousely in kubinka. however the tank he mentioned that was England was believe it or not the e100 super heavy. only the hull was made and all the road wheels attached. it was left in a factory somewhere in germany and was captured by british soldiers. it was bought back to England for an assesment but then got scrapped...like what the hell. but anyway there is a picture of e100 being loaded on a trailer just search it up

Of all of the nations involved in WW2, it seems that Russia takes the best care of these historically important machines. Here in the USA, most such equipment sits out exposed to the elements until ruined, then people panic and want money donations to restore them when it's often too late.

@AndrewP657
@AndrewP657 8 лет назад
+冯剑锋 You are right about the Maus. Only 2 prototypes were built and the one in the museum is a combo of the V1 bottom with the V2's turret after the Soviets over ran the tank factory and captured them. The other parts were destroyed. I just watched the doc about the tank from the NatGeo channel. That thing weighs 180+ tons. That's compared to the 50 ton T90 and 62 ton M1. This would definitely be a museum I would love to see.

Most of them are now at Ft. Benning, Georgia, inside. They won't be turned back into running tanks, but eventually all will receive cosmetic work to the outside of the vehicles. Look at the Elephant, currently at Bovington for the kind of work to be done (it is there on loan from the US Army).

WOw I see the German 'Super Tank': Maus with 128mm canon. Initially, Hitler and German engineer confused how to arm this monster? It's not comparable or it's just to small to put a 88mm just like used by King Tiger. Finally, the choice go to install a 128mm caliber belongin from a warship! The problem later, is the tank is just to heavy no bridge can hold the weight while crossing. Second, the tank just come late to war when WW2 come to end.
