Just thought I would make a video for a guide to upgrading your factory case drain line on Kubota 97-2 track loader. I had to make this upgrade to run the Shearex HM70-SR Mulching Head but regardless I think it's a great upgrade for any machine that has a smaller case drain line.

Doing mine tonight thanx a lot .. I have promac hsm using 3 years but now guess return filter clogged tand blowing fluid out pop off valve .. so gonna just upgrade drain tonight like urs .. spoke to ya on phone earlier thanx so much

Knives are the way to go for production. Have you run a mulcher on a Kubota skid before? I have one of the U55 minis and I run a mulcher on that quite frequently and have had no issues but I have heard the Kubota skids are bad about overheating when running mulchers. One of the main reasons I went from my Deere to ASV actually. (Deere has a lot of the same problems as well on their skids) They (Deere, at some dealers) are actually now recommending switching the quick connect heads from factory to Stucchi in order to get lower hydraulic temps.

I ran a FAE head on the Kubota with carbides open drum. I ran the Shearex today for the first time and I'm very impressed! So far no over heating issues, I do keep it blown out daily and put the screen upgrade for radiator! Shearex came down and tuned head to machine. Kubota can be a sluggish at times though

How do you keep your machine so clean mulching lol? Mine is destroyed and full of debris. Even when I clean, one day later destroyed. Have you fixed the dust coming in cab issue

Just did this today ! Super easy, I did it slightly different , 17’ hose be perfect I did 17.5 and had slack. I welded a bracket onto the electrical bracket and put 1/2” (#8) so there’s no #6 restriction

Is a #6 fitting smaller than a #8 line? I'm thinking it might be restrictive and the larger hose will not benefit you.

I thought the same, and kept wanting to go with my gut feeling but Vic with Shearex said no need to update the fitting, he was able to back up his proof when he hooked the gauges up to the head and showed the pressures returning back to tank. Just that bigger ID hose made all the difference

The factory case drain line on the Kubota is to small not letting the pressure release out of the mulching head. Upgraded line to a #8 hydraulic line gives it the volume and flow back to tank. Resulting in machine staying cooler and more pressure to the head 🤙

@@clunelandservices Heard that. I just got my Kubota 97 back today. My case drain some how got cracked and they had to install a new manifold. The air unit in it was so clogged up from mulching that they had to remove it to clean the evaporator and blows like a champ now.
