There is a flow control valve knob on your BX. It is the knob beside the one that controls the mower deck height. If you turn the knob in tight it will not let the 3 point hitch on the rear move. Oh yea that BX is a 23 HP not 25.5.
Only problem there is the mower deck height can't be adjusted either. I WISH there was a way to lock the rear 3-point hitch at a height and be able to control the deck separately.
@@cbensch You can disconnect the lift arms and attach them to the holes in the frame near the rear fenders. You can't use the rear lift, but they don't go up and down with the deck.
Trad6166 the mower deck and 3 point are controlled by the same lever and work together. I wish Kubota would have different controls for each. There is room on the panel.
@@Second.Nature.Lawn.Michigan The deck has a auto leveling feature built into it on the 60" decks that keep it from scalping. That's why I got my 60" deck because of that feature.
Its a lot better with the flap up. The discharge chute is designed to keep the mower from throwing stuff long distances away...found this out this past weekend with mine...had the flap up as I was mowing 2-3 foot high grass, somehow lost a pin and clip to one of the deck wheels which the mower ate and spit out 75 feet across the property I was mowing. So, that flap is definitely there for a reason...
Out of curiosity how is the speed difference in mowing with the BX series mid-mount mower versus a good quality zero turn mower? I realise that you can't turn as well and I don't have that problem as few trees but this option is only a few dollars more than a good zero turn mower and would make a lot more sense if it was compatible in speed as it would spend 95% of its time mowing.
It depends on mowing conditions and ground conditions of course. I mow with my BX2680 in low range which is about 4mph, plenty fast enough for mowing, in high range it tops out a bit over 8mph....too fast to mow with. I only have an acre, I usually mow with a lawn tractor, I've mowed a couple times with my BX2680 since I got my 60" mid mount mower and its not any faster, but its not any slower either. Once the loader and rear implement is removed you are pretty much taking up the same space as a conventional lawn tractor. I've never looked into a zero turn mower because I have a snow blower that mounts on my lawn tractor, can't do that with a zero turn, at least not without having to buy a completely different snow blower. A zero turn is ok if all you want to do is mow, and just mow nice perfectly flat ground, but throw in rough ground, hills, and other chores and they're a very horrible choice due to their limitations of accessories/attachments. If it weren't for my snow blower I'd love to have a zero turn....and it may be what I end up with when my current lawn tractor fails, which hopefully isn't for a long time LOL...they're not very cheap to replace.
No problems at all unless you are trying to mow when its extremely wet. A zero turn will do just as much if not more damage the way people drive them, they actually do far worse damage, those and the stupid commercial stand on and walk behind machines. When you go through a lawn that's mowed by a company that strictly uses that heavy commercial equipment you can usually see all the ruts they've put in because of it,. and they typically will mow rain or shine, so in the rain they just rut the ground up even worse than normal, and they always mow the same way so they just keep making the ruts deeper and deeper. The only time my tractor causes turf damage is if its extremely wet and I'm doing loader work in 4WD.
