Great video. I have time on backhoes large and small but it seems the Kubota [yours] has something special. Does your machine do anything surprising or just extremely effective overall? Also, would you say the BX25 is engineered to dig really good in comparison to other machines or would you say your comments are not based on experience with other hoes? I need a small machine but I don't want a mini excavator and a bobcat-it's to help me electrical contracting such as service trenches, setting temporaries, help with long pulls, lifting and securing while concrete sets, etc. I'm also asking Sgt. Flat too because I want two good opinions. Thanks again.
Hi Kenny. Well I'm a licensed heavy equipment operator as well and have over 20.000 hours on very large equipment that's in the Iron Ore industry. I've operated some of the biggest stuff around so like you I know what that stuff can do. As for the BX. That little bugger surprised the heck out of me. It will do almost anything you ask it to do but it does it on it's own time. Yes you can dig with it but it's much slower than a big machine. It's reliable, it's a fuel sipper and it can get into the smallest places. I just love the thing. never breaks down and we are always finding things for it to do. We use it for our property in the summer months and use the larger Kubota 5740 cab tractor for the winter months. I think you'd like the BX. If I were you I'd go rent one for a day and try it out before you make your finial decision. Hope this helps. ........Paul

Thanks Mark. I use the ShelterLogic shelters. I find them great. I have three of them here. They will last a very long time as long as you have them planted well in the ground. The sun will eventually take out the cover. Our last one lasted 7 years. It survived four tropical storms and a few very harsh winters. Its the sun that eventually takes them out. The replacement cost for our big one was $350 CDN. which adds up to cheap storage for our tractors plus we don't pay any added property tax because they are considered portable. Hope this helps.
Paul, do you see much value in a 4 in 1 bucket? Here in Australia they promote them but you seem do fine with the standard bucket...ur videos are the best BTW!!
Thanks Tony. Although they are available here in Canada they aren't a big seller. I haven't seen any used in this end of Newfoundland, Canada. We live in a very rocky area so I don't think the 4in1 would really work well and I also think they are a little less ridged than a normal bucket. Happy to hear your enjoying our videos. Keep well.

I really like all your videos, but as a Kabota owner you just can't beat watching someone dig out a stump with the backhoe. I absolutely love watching you work your tractors. I bet if you got on one of those new bx23s's, if would feel so out of place. Almost like putting spmeone else's shoes or gloves on. It just wouldn't "fit", ehh?!? The reason I say that is because, even nearly 2 years ago, you maneuver lil killer like it's part of you. That is what separates the "men from the boys", ehh?!? There is going to be a big tractor machinery show in Louisville, KY in a few weeks. Tim from "Tractor Time With Tim" announced he's gonna be there. I wish a miracle would happen so I could fly you 2 down here too. I'd travel the nearly 2 hours to meet you all. That would be one thing crossed off my "bucket list". You 2 are AWESOME!! O M G Paul, you thought the opinions on "Scoop gate" (Luc"s scoop) was bad. Oh good Lord, the comments on the how to run a BX from the arm chair operators, oh man. It don't matter that operating heave equipment for decades their gonna tell you how to run. The comments are gonna funny. For those who wish to tell ya how to run they need to be in the local union. "Internet armchair union local 44". You buy 16tonne at a time ballpark how much that is? The material you get how well does it drain? What the name for it?

Drive that BX like you stole it! I was trying to figure out just what that thing is you got on. Being way down here in Florida you don't see them in stores. That would really make me sweat! Is it a coat? I use to see them up north, in fact i owned a few myself. Always nice to see you not growing old doing nothing, maybe that doesn't make sense. You are one busy man! Great work guys! The 'side yard' is looking good. I must say...the camera shot change at about 5:45 until 8:00 makes it look like Kathy had gone out and climbed a tree. When she finally stepped back and moved over it was obvious she was on that patch of grass ahead of the gravel pile. Or was it...? :-) Ha!

Don't not get to discouraged. These little tractors are tough to level with due to their weight, power and size. I used to level with a Cat 966 and Cat 988 and I found it makes ch easier with those big machines. With the small units it's simply seat time that will make you better each time.
You have really transformed that place. Maybe on a future video, you could do a before pic, before touching it, then show an after pic, of what you have up to this point, or wait til you are complete. Either way, AWESOME!

Not all of them, yet, because I have to admit, I have favorites that I watch over and over. Mostly to hear you and your better half goofing off a little, which always makes your videos better than they already are. Which.is saying a lot because your vids are top notch. You 2, together, with your little antics is like putting "icing on a cake", peanut butter with jelly. You 2 are definately "2 peas in a pod". Thanks a million.

Thank you for this. It's a local thing I guess. A guy spends a lifetime working 12-16 hour days for most of his and hers life and gets kicked in the gut for spending some of their hard earned money.
You sure bloody deserve anything you buy. Anyone who can't see how hard you work including Cathy on camera must have the screws in their head loose.
