KUBOTA DIED | WATER IN FUEL TANK | BLEEDING KUBOTA L2350 FUEL SYSTEM
Kubota was running great and shut off after minutes running. found water in fuel tank and lines. Cleaned out the system and new fuel and bleed the fuel system untill it fired up.

We have egg laying chickens, meat chickens, turkeys, pigs, and goats.
We also have five real nice gardens.

Prevention is to always keep fuel tank full. Especially if it sits for long periods. My 2001 Kioti had water in the system. I saw it when I changed the filter. Ran fuel out before attaching new filter, but made mistake of trying to start it before bleeding lines. I didn’t know how. So thanks for the tutorial. I’ll see if this helps.

We have a Diesel storage tank. It got moved to a position where it was leaning forward and the next fill up of our excavator had a remarkable amount of water. Overwhelmed 2 water blocker filters coming from the storage tank 1000 gallons, the water Seperator & filter on the Kubota U35. Followed these steps and she is purring like a kitten. My breath smells of diesel but I am smilin'. Thanks again.

I’m not a mechanic but I own a b series Kubota. I had trouble with filters freezing in winter (in PA). I asked some one knowledgeable where the water could come from. He explained that the fuel system in modern vehicles are a loop from tank to engine and back to tank via the return line. So, fuel may be cold in the tank and it gets pumped up to warm engine. If not needed, warm fuel returns to tank and mixes with cold fuel. This continuous cycle of mixing causes condensation in the tank. I said I have a lot of water in the tank. He said you’re going to get a lot because of the loop in the fuel system. I installed a fuel/water separator designed for a diesel marine application and it solved my problem but I have to remember to open the tap and drain the water bowl monthly. It doesn’t stop the condensation but it catches the water and provides a way to get it out of the loop. Worked for me. 🥸👍👀✅

Hi Tony, First and watching! That is a shame Tony, I hope it wasn't sabotage, I think I would be thinking of anyone I knew, even if the cap wasn't tight tight you shouldn't have had that much water, yes, it was yellow almost like water downed orange juice, water is in your engine, Let it run and push out any water that maybe in there! Sure happy you have your Kubota back, Great Job!

Wix filters are really good. If you cut one open and a Fram beside one another you can see a clear difference in the filters. That is a Ton of water! Diesel engines for some reason have that problem a lot. Most have water separator filters on them. I wonder if you could put one on there before it hits the main filter. I think it may be condensation when the humidity is really high. Something to do with a diesel though because when my dad has a shop in the 80s there were a lot of 70s diesel cars (Oldsmobile, Cadilac etc..) they had the same problem a lot.

I got that much water out of an old L345 with a fuel tank less than half full. We had a big weather change to warm and humid. The tractor was in a shed and I’m sure no one messed with it - just condensation. I’ve been messing with it and my mistake was I’d been opening a petcock on the injector pump instead of the bypass/bleed screw. I’ve ordered a Derale 13070 fuel filter mount and big filter with a drain cock on the bottom. I’ll make draining the filter part of my startup procedure. And I’ll try to keep the tank full!

A LOT of water! You ever considered a fuel pre-filter that traps water before entering into the main fuel filter? If it got in once, it'll get in again.

I have the same problem. I have drained the fuel tank, changed filters and I'm still getting water coming out. I'm going to drain it again and put some denatured alcohol in it to see if that will clean it up.

I have the exact same tractor. I live in Deep East Texas where we get a LOT of rain annually. I leave my tractor outside most of the year and have NEVER had that kind of water in my Diesel. Either you got a bad batch of diesel from the station or sadly, someone put water in your tank. BTW...I really like that ROPS mounted canopy. Do you know the manufacturer of that?

I have the same problem on my bobcat e32. Going to tackle this today. Only issue I have is draining the fuel from the tank, might have to pump it out since it’s lower then the engine. Are there drain plugs on fuel tanks?

My company has a zero turn kubota. Our entire tank got water in it somehow. To be sure someone didn’t add water from a gas jug. Dude did cut the grass in the rain the other day but dang. No way to drain it except from fuel line on top

I'd guess the fuel was contaminated from the source. Either your can or the station that sold it...

I used a old wrench and ground down the side so it does fit in there. Once you break it lose it will be easy. Good luck

It’s not the rain, it’s condensation. I’m betting your tractor sat near empty of fuel and that fuel was not treated.

That is a good thought but i think it had over 1/2 a tank off fuel and almost got half gallon of water out of it. Sad part it ran perfect about 10 day earlier with no problems. Thanks for watching and giving some input on it. be safe out there.

I'm assuming you put a new fuel filter on it.There is a bleed bolt on top of your filter housing. Take it loose And it should bleed out at least to your filter.

I forgot there is a bleeder bolt on the injector pump also. Let that gravity bleed to. If you do what I did on my video it should work. Make sure your battery is fully charged. Open only one line at a time on the injector until fuel comes out then do the next one. And then the 3rd one it should be running by now

I put a new filter on and everything and blended it the way you showed in the video one at a time but it’s won’t bleed at the injectors

@lucasf6495 The only other thing I can say is it had contaminants or water in the injection pump, and it's pitted or sticking. You probably need to pull the pump and have it looked at.
