This Kubota Tractor Corporation KX018-4R1 mini excavator has been outfitted to maintain mountain biking trails with a thumb and tilt bucket. The KX018 is one of Kubota's smaller excavators that still has the same features as their mid size machines. This machine has one set of auxiliaries that can feed the thumb or bucket. The thumb is made by amulet and shares the same pivot pin as the coupler. This custom 24" tilt bucket was built by NM attachments out of Canada. Do you guys sell this tilt bucket? I have a u17 I am looking into a tilt for to use as you mentioned at a ski resort on mtb trails.

Could you provide more information on the hydraulics? Specifically the auxiliary pressure relief valve.

Hello Jon, On this build we used a 2 way relief valve to prevent the bucket from bending the thumb cylinder. We have a couple varieties of valves that we use but most of them can be adjusted with set screws and springs.

What's the difference between the kx018 and the u17 other than a little weight ?

Kubota has two lines of compact excavators. The KX line are considered conventional machines which have tail swing over their tracks. The family of U series machines are considered minimum tail swing machines. The line of U series equipment is designed for tight spaces.
