Using the Kubota L2501 and BH77 Backhoe attachment to dig up some deep rooted stumps. I may have found an underground water source with a couple of these stumps.
I just purchased an L2501 with the BH77 backhoe on it, glad I found your video so I can see real world use. I'm going to be digging out stumps as well.
@@thecreeklifeoutdoors5855 I got the thumb and the 16" bucket for it. I'm pretty experienced on backhoes but never used one this small. I think it will be fun.
Thanks for a a stump video!, I just took delivery on my L2501 with a backhoe too. Same job last two days stumps and water filling the holes in central NY.
Very nice video on digging out these big stumps. Easy does it! Quite a strong backhoe, even when you take the stumps on a side branch 4:55 you would expect a large torque coming into the backhoe construction.
I'm looking at the bh77 and need advice on bucket size. I have stumps to take out trees to remove and rocks. 16" comes standard but I was thinking of getting a 10" bucket because I'd be working against less material and have more power. I also considered a ripper thinking it may be faster at stump/rock removal. I have an old culvert to remove, drain tile to put in and a huge wash out are to fill in where a bigger bucket would be nice. Most my ridges are rocky. What size bucket you have and is a ripper needed? I have a lot of work to do and it will be continuous as if I finish one thing, I'll think of something else to do.
@@thecreeklifeoutdoors5855 I was thinking mini too because I did not finance a back hoe into the tractor purchase and attachments are only 2 years 0% last I looked. RU-vid is expensive 😁. One day when we make it big time we can buy and make more videos for a living 👍🍻
Hey Jason. I am Ronnie from S. Carolina. Man what a pretty property you have. I wish I got me a backhoe with my tractor. I have thought about just buying an old one backhoe until I get done with it and then sale it. It is amazing how just a small stump has such a massive root system. That 2nd stump was huge. And that hole was completely filled water, wow haha. How were you moving the tractor with you on the backhoe portion? Is there a way to move it or did you have someone driving it? Nice video my friend.
@@thecreeklifeoutdoors5855 I got ya. Yeah, I am thinking of buying a true backhoe then selling it when done. I like how you can swivel in the seat. Of course, a trachoe would be best like you mentioned.
Also what mechanical thumb do you have on yours? I always thought they were hydraulic thumbs but the dealer told me their not. I still feel I may need that thumb even though it's not hydraulic so I can pinch and move.
@@thecreeklifeoutdoors5855 I did wonder about that. I have a BH77 on order now for my L3301. Nice to know the levers are within reach from the front seat.
You're better off digging the stump completely out before you try using the thumb and put the thumb up until you're ready to grab the stump you can dig much easier
