Kubota L4701 Specs | Why We Chose This Tractor 

For anyone trying to choose, I highly recommend the Land Pride SGC1060 grapple. It is built with much thicker plate (AR400) and the geometry is very good for using as a root rake. The style in this video is similar with the shorter bottom tines but the plate steel on the tines looks to be pretty thin. Maybe Jeff can weigh in on how his has held up but it looks like the tines might be easy to bend in more demanding situations. I would recommend against the grapples you see with long jaw-like bottom tines, the geometry is just not as versatile.

Just Purchased a new L4701, just waiting for them to deliver it. Got a grapple and rear blade and did get the R4 tires. Will be purchasing an auger and brush hog in the very near future. Im like a kid waiting for Christmas day. Did a lot of research prior to my purchase and think this will be the best for my property. Very nice choice, I think you will be happy, if you keep it serviced I know it will last a life time. One thing I noticed you hauling that brush with loader way up, please keep loader as low as possible, not trying to be saftey sally but 30 years rescue squad/leo, I've worked a lot of roll overs, but we have very steep terrain here in east Tennessee. When I bought my L4701, I went with the R 4’s, they were a 500 dollar cost over the AG tires, in 2017, the R4’s have been a great allround tire. Another advantage to the R4,s that no one seems to mention is tractor stability which is much better withe the R4’s because they are much much wider and the traction is very good and they won’t damage your yard when running a finish mower to mow as long as you drop the heavy loader

good video, love kubota. a little clarification for those that dont know. a diverter can do one function, or the other function. it can lift, or curl. the way you phrased it, "one but not the other" might mislead a newbie. again, great video, hope your enjoying your nice ride!!

Nice tractor! I ended up getting the L3902… I asked about a 4701 but the dealer didn’t have any and said they weren’t that much different than the 3901 (3902) I’m like well the HP and loader is different and he replied with “Slightly but normally you wouldn’t notice the difference” I get he wanted to sell what he had and like I said I did buy it! Happy over all with the purchase and I did save some money not buying the 4701 but hoping I won’t regret not getting the more HP!

Great information. My dealer informed me the other day that the 4701 does not come in a shuttle shift. Only standard or hydro

very nice review. I looked at the L4701 when I went through the process of buying my Kubota tractor. because of the tight places that I need to get into down in my woods, I went with the smaller version. actually the L2501. Bet you can't guess why the L2501 over the L3301.

I am buying one of these and I am getting the excavator attachment the grapple attachment and the box blade attachment as well as the front loader. I have many projects and this is going to be a wonderful addition

R4’s are about 500 bucks more then the R1’s .R4’s are a lot wider, grip good on a variety of applications and are much kinder to your lawn if you like to run a finish mower as. I do. I bought my L4701 new in 2017. I have been happy with my tractor and will add the third hydraulic function and a grapple after I pay off the tractor in 3 yrs, good luck! I think you made a good choice!

Did you flip your rear tires for the wider stance ? Looks like it just wandering. I have 4701 also. Thinking of swapping mine.

Nice rig, not too big yet has push, pulling, and lifting muscle beyond most compact tractors. Great balance. If it only had a cab.

Consider a set of pallet forks instead of a grapple, i have the use of both and use the pallet forks almost exclusively.

Did you compare other tractor brands before deciding on the Kubota?

What made you choose the HST over the gear transmission? I've read that the gear transmission is much stronger than the HST.

We bought a Kubota MX5200 last year. It looks quite similar to your L47401. I’m not sure but could they be on the same chassis? We did not really have much confusion when buying our tractor. We were planning to buy another brand tractor but the deal fell through due to Covid restrictions. So we went to the Kubota dealer and explained our situation. He said they had a MX5200 HST which was bigger than what we wanted. They did not have any L or B series tractors in stock. I did not even see a BX on display. They just had this MX5200 being prepared in their workshop. We had a look, took it for a quick test drive and liked it. We were given a good deal and have been very happy with it.

Price out a rebuild on the the brush hog shaft and see if it saves you some money. Inland trucks did ours in Frisco

How much was the price difference between the L4701 and the MX5400. By the way, not all grapples are heavy... EA makes a great grapple that is lighter that the competition but very robust. Thank you for sharing your tractor experience.

Do you know what the road speed with your 4701 is? My 3901 is just 14.1 MPH but mine is an HST with radial tires.

It is frustrating I'm trying to buy one now and getting information from the local dealers is a joke. Talk to about five of them are the biggest wiseguys know-it-all nothing's on the planet. Smartass is the accurate term

What state are you in? The biggest thing I would change is the antifreeze in your tires. Leaking antifreeze on a pasture can poison your animals. Beet Juice is heaver and harmless.

L47 is completely different from the L4701.

The L6060 is the biggest L series then you move to the mx series

Having a kid on the Tractor, is not a good idea.
