I don’t have that plate covering the drain plug on my 2018 u35-4 . There are no threaded holes to even bolt one up to. Did you add that to that machine? Wondering why they would eliminate this cover. Thanks
Hi Mike. Interesting note. I didn't know that, some Kubota Mini excavators don't have the bottom engine cover. Our U35-4 came with engine skid plate strait from the factory. I am surprised yours doesn't have it. I would definitely make one to protect the engine oil pan.

Never saw a clear answer for you. The proper way to change oil when it comes to pre filling is always up for debate. I can say, with 13 years years of experience, though I don't do many oilchanges any more since I tackle heavier jobs. I NEVER pre filled oil filters. Unless if was on a semi, or heavy equipment, only r3ason I did so then, was because some of those filters can hold a gallon of oil. It takes a while to fill up, so you won't have oil pressure. Small filters, there is no need, it fills in 2 or 3 seconds, and you're good to go.
