Really cool item. The air intake made out of ABS pipe was creative. Nice little engine. I love engines like this: practical, small, multiple uses, light enough to man-handle with a dolly on one's own, etc. The clamp extension worked! Good Job, Steve! 4+ years sitting and over it went!
The good thing about these small kubota diesels, because they are low hp, even with the final tier emission standards, they remain relatively unaffected by emission standards. I've got one in a genset at my camp/house and It always puts a smile on my face when it starts up just fine at -30c all by itself. Runs at 3600rpm and still uses very little fuel. Tuff engines.
Hi Steve, that’s a really smooth running and quiet diesel engine - excellent work on the storage work too, both internally and externally were looked after - that’s the way to do it 👍🏻 boy that could generate enough electricity for your camp and your neighbours camp lol cheers
How's she goin'? That's a smart looking diesel engine there Steve. And it started up some good after being stored for so long. It was super clean and no signs of critters being in and around it. That was nice to see. And posting all those notes sure is a great idea because no matter what we think, our memories aren't what they used to be!! It runs some smooth. I bet you'll think of some 'epic' project for this engine. Thanks for sharing and take 'er easy!!
Thats a nice little engine to be stuck with. If I had that I would do a permanent base for it in the yard and when I have nothing to do just start it and let it run just to here it. Soon you won’t be able to get something like that. All your going to be able to get is electric motor so your gouvernement would like you to do. I won’t be around any more so I don’t worry.....CHEERS
So true Gator , no emissions on this at all. Bought this from a plant in Ottawa that builds gensets for the military and for refers , the government changed emissions regulations so they were allowed to sell them to the public , I bought 2 of 650 that went for auction on eBay.
Steve, did you hear me yell, "the muffler is loose"! Bet that engine is worth a lot more today than when you bought it. Sell it and retire! Haha Happy New Year pal.
Such a cool little engine. They're around 10hp, aren't they? I can think of a ton of uses for it but I'd probably build a large inverter generator. First I'd put it on a gokart! lol
