i like the quality but they are far too baggy and the size of the pants legs at the shins/ankles are too large. they may fit a 32 inch waist fine. at a 36 inch waist, they are far too baggy.
I have three pairs of KUIU Kutana Stretch Woven Pants and they don't come true to size in my opinion. I use a 38" pant size and I have to order KUIU pants in size 40", 38's being too small. Otherwise they are great, I just came back from a two week trip to South Dakota where it was still quite cold and the Kutanas were outstanding.
In my experience, the pant with a base layer was adequate while hiking in single digits with light wind. I have not tested them at that temperature while glassing or in a tree stand. If you are stationary in 5-20* windy conditions you will likely need to experiment with varying weights of base layers. Good luck and enjoy the adventure!
Alex McConnell they come with a DWR type treatment so they are water resistant in light rain. However, like any DWR treatment it wears off after a few washings and will need to be retreated.
@@9770G if you don’t wash the pant, the DWR will definitely last longer. I often wear the pants for multiple days - as long as two weeks on a long hunt or backpacking trip - without washing. They hold up great and don’t stink.
So there is one thing left out of this review. As an outdoor pant they should not be made of a polyester that is in no way resistant to fire. I absolutely loved mine right up til a small ember snapped out of the fire and landed on my left side crotch area. Burned a hole straight through before I could even swipe it away. I will never purchase another set of these again. What a waste.
