Lyrics : My house is divided by a wall Stairs divided by a wall On the left side there is a bathroom On the right side there is a little kitchen My house is divided by a wall Stairs divided by a wall On the left side there is a bathroom And on the right... My body is divided by a wall Ten fingers on the left side The second ten on the right side Equal parts of the head on each side My body is divided by a wall Ten fingers on the left side The second ten on the right side Of the head... My street is divided by a wall The right side glows with neon lights The left side is completely blank From behind the curtain he observes both sides My street is divided by a wall The right side glows with neon lights The left side is completely blank From behind the curtain he observes both sides My street is divided by a wall The right side glows with neon lights The left side is completely blank From behind the curtain he observes both sides The left side never wakes up The right side never sleeps The left side never wakes up The right side never sleeps The left side never wakes up The right side never sleeps The left side never wakes up The right side never sleeps The left side never wakes up The right side never sleeps The left side never wakes up The right side never sleeps The left side never wakes up The right side never sleeps
Dzięki za rozpowszechnianie polskiej muzyki. Wiele utworów pochodzi z lat 80, i 90. Gdzie byliśmy bardzo podzieleni. W latach 80 , był stan wojenny, w 90 , transformacja ustrojowa. Gdzie w Polsce skończyła się komuna.
This song talks about the political division of the 1980s. He doesn't say it directly because censorship didn't allow it. It was his fight against communism for the freedom of Poland, Poles and the entire world. Kazik and his band KULT are the most recognizable band in Poland. He created his own, unique style and his work is probably known to all Poles born after 1960. He is amazing and the lyrics of his songs always get to the heart of the matter. Kazik is the best💪
The song "Arahja" by Kazik Staszewski (singing in the video above) was written in the mid-1980s, it was interpreted as a metaphor for the division of Polish society into parts - "communists" and Solidarity. In recent years, the song has gained a second life, because in Poland there has been an equally strong, or maybe even stronger, political division into two warring parties - a division that sometimes makes even family members stop talking to each other.
Hmm wrong answer ;) this was about the division of Berlin … so not about polish society , this was a protest against the partition of Berlin . But it could be applied to anything during the communism ;)
@@catchapl And you decide how I or others should interpret and read the songs? Because "it was as earlier said about Berlin" ? I heard this song over 35 years ago and for me and my friends it did not remind me of Berlin, but of the country where I lived, Poland. Besides, I am not convinced that when Kazik wrote the words "my home" in the text in those difficult times for Poland, he had Berlin in mind. This does not rule out, that someone else could or may interpret this piece in this way. In my post I did not write that "my" interpretation was the only one and I did not bash others who interpreted the song differently.
@@Zielona_Glowa Następny od "jedynie słusznej" interpretacji, poucza co mam napisac. Arahja nie miała "oryginalnego" teledysku, a ten tzw. oficjalny powstał ponad 20 lat później.
Kazik is a polish rock legend. He was a very strong voice literally and even more importantly metaphorically. btw. You can check for yourself this song when Kazik sang it in 1991, when he was younger.
According to estimates, there were almost a million people at this concert. Million! Imagine it. And everyone was safe! I was there too! Great concert, great atmosphere, peace and love.
Koncert Kultu na woodstocku- to nie mogło się nie udać- szokiem jest to że pierwszy ich koncert był po tylu latach. Legendarny zespół, na legendarnym festiwalu... Aż się rozkleiłem jak to sobie przypomniałem :)
Tex song: My house is divided by a wall Stairs divided by the wall On the left side, a bathroom On the right side, a kitchen My house is divided by a wall Stairs divided by the wall On the left side, a bathroom And on the right... My body is divided by a wall Ten fingers on the left side Another ten on the right side My head equally split on each side My body is divided by a wall Ten fingers on the left side Another ten on the right side My head equally split on each side My street is divided by a wall Neon lights shining on the right side The left side completely darkened I observe both sides from behind the curtain My street is divided by a wall Neon lights shining on the right side The left side completely darkened I observe both sides from behind the curtain My street is divided by a wall Neon lights shining on the right side The left side completely darkened I observe both sides from behind the curtain The left side never wakes up The right side never falls asleep The left side never wakes up The right side never falls asleep The left side never wakes up The right side never falls asleep The left side never wakes up The right side never falls asleep The left side never wakes up The right side never falls asleep The left side never wakes up The right side never falls asleep The left side never wakes up The right side never falls asleep
I was in that crowd, it was crazy and emotional! Specially because this song first came out during the communism times, now we have similar government (but we just had an election day and after 8 years it looks like they've lost finally 😁). Our parents listened to Kult, now we are listening to their music. For me it's special also because I've met the front man, Kazik. He is the sweetest guy. I could thank him for this concert in person. He said to me, that for him it was "magical and spiritual experience". Unfortunately he is in a hospital now, hope he will be ok. Thank you for the reaction videos! It's making me smile to see how people from other countries can feel about piece of our history even not understanding the lyrics 😊
Jedna z najpiękniejszych chwil w życiu czlowieka, jedność, przyjaźń przy akompaniamencie Muzyki. Nie ważna rasa, orientacja.Ważne jest to, że czujemy się szczęśliwi. Złe chwile Idą do lamusa. Zapominasz o złych ludziach Pozdrawiam Cię serdecznie Z Polski
Hey brother. Thanks a million for doing what you do. It’s nice to see perception of a foreigner on a rich and well doing polish music culture. Na zdrowie!
Kazimierz Staszewski and all his projects are a polish legends and music pioneers, he is responsible for a first polish rap song ("Jeszcze Polska") and a lot of politically and community involved songs that are getting generations together. They also made tone of light-hearted pieces that are entertaining us for four decades now.
This is an amazing festival in Poland. Organized every year to say thank you to all the people who helped to raise money for the Polish foundation. It is free, it is friendly, for young, old, families with children etc. just full of love, rock and support.
Hello Sir thank you very much for what you doing, I see you enjoy and share my culture. I 50 years old now and about 35 years when I leasing English lyric and don’t understand shit ha ha , so I know what you feel . I’m always take voice in my mind
Dzieki muzyce z Anglii , US.powstaly takie zespoly i festiwale , jest ich duzo , i doskonle sie rozwinely , przedewszstkim graja dobra muzyke.Brak tylko dobrego tlumaczenia.
'The wall' in the song is the Berlin wall, and 'the curtain' that the lyrical subject looks through at all that is the Iron Curtain (after Poles got betrayed in Yalta we got given away to communist Stalin's Russia and the separation of us from the free world was called The Iron Curtain) That's such a strong song for all of Poles. We got free recently, in 1980 (by the Solidarność movement - Lech Wałęsa), last russian troops left in 1993 (btw year I was born in).
Pozdrawiam
Hello D 😊 You made some reactions to songs from Polandrock (Woodstock). This is certainly a one-of-a-kind festival, the largest in Poland. The next one will take place on August 1-3, maybe you will visit Poland during this time and feel for yourself what it is like to be in such a place among so many amazing people... Hope to see you there 😊
The lyrics of the song talk about how much politicians have divided Polish society. These divisions have existed since communism. Left side - communists, right side - Polish patriots, conservative and often Catholics.
Been there, the fun part of this festival is thats Polish history of fight with corrupt power and soo much more. And when youre there theres no division on any kind I've been druninking there with cops, priests, hippies, skinheads and much more "groups" there. We are one in there.
There is one concert in the same place where you don't need to understand the lyrics because the guy plays the violin. His name is Michał Jelonek and you have to see him! The audience reaction is amazing. The fragment of the concert I propose here begins with the artist's words: "You have this spirit" and "We say goodbye to you." The audience then chants his name and then: "seven more songs." It's a great honor to hear "one more song"... but seven? Oh gosh! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-2yROzXL9TSI.html By the way: I once heard: never explain yourself. A wise person does not need your explanations, and a fool will not understand even if you explain it a hundred times. Be careful when watching this concert because it is addictive.
One more song to enjoy: Audience making a snake. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-2yROzXL9TSI.html What is snake? You grab the shoulders of the person on front of you and someone grab you shoulders. Then you just go with the flow being a part of the beautiful amazingly dancing snake.
My house is divided by a wall Stairs divided by a wall On the left side there is a bathroom On the right side there is a stove My house is divided by a wall Stairs divided by a wall On the left side there is a bathroom And on the right... My body is divided by a wall Ten fingers on the left side Another ten on the right side Equal parts of the head on each side My body is divided by a wall.... My street is divided by a wall The right side glows with neon lights The left side is completely blank From behind the curtain I am watching both sides My street is divided by a wall... The right side never sleeps The left side never wakes up...
Like next instrument and no problem ha ha . Something cut my message sorry about. I’m leaving now in California and you make me feel better with your RU-vid channel. Thanks a lot
you can just write on google: arahja kult lyrics, then copy the text and use google translator to translate it to understand what it is about... right?
Zgadza się. Początkowo utwór nazywał się "Nowa piosenka o Berlinie" i też tak był zapowiadany na koncertach. Niestety w tamtych czasach cenzor tego nie puścił. Dlatego Kazik zmienił tytuł.
