I was there. I'm the tall guy with long hair and a Nikon DSLR about three or four people back from the stage. What an amazing night. While it was happening I was thinking this might be one of the greatest concerts I've ever seen, but wasn't sure if that was just the moment. Watching this over and over I can confirm that it really was what I thought at the time.
Truly inspirational...that closing song, just an incredible energy from the whole band. Did Steely Dan's music well, and it's no surprise, seeing the guest musicians!!
OK, when it comes to Steely Dan, these guys are amazing. The guitar player even sounds like Fagen. Two drums, two keyboards, two guitars, and a horn section. Wow, I would pay big to see these guys.
What respect Kung Fu has to the Maters! Great Job! Super props to John Herrington and Pretty Purdie! Kung Fu is the best band in the Tri State region. This is a scary 54 mins!
I keep going to this video to get my Dan fix. Wish I could've made it to this one, I know they just did it again last week in New Orleans w/ Perdie and Natalie Cressman
Good God was this amazing. Some synching issues between the two drummers but DAMN do that make up for it on Fez/Earings. Incredibly energy and enthusiasm here...deep love for this absolute masterpiece of an album.
If you listen, playing SIGN IN STRANGER, they had trouble getting/keeping the time! One drummer and a better understanding of the complex rhythms and time sigs would have improved an already stellar performance imho!! Great vid
yeah definitely heard that man, otherwise a tight set, I'm confused as to why they decided on having two drummers..other than aesthetics I don't think it really serves any functional purpose
Nope. 7 of the 9 cuts were recorded by Purdie. The other two by Rick Marotta. The only SD cut to employ two drummers in the studio, I believe, was Parker's Band with Jeff Porcaro and Jim Gordon.
