I can’t thank you enough for taking my question and answering it with such depth and richness. It’ll take me a lifetime (or more!) to ‘get’ this for real but for the pointing and guidance I’m beyond thankful. Blown away by this response. Thanks Steve Smith and Adam Chan.

The goal of building an effect from the bottom of the body to the top of the opponents body by seemlessly imposing a lifting, pressing/wedging and setting action upon the opponents attack that translates through their entire body seems like a good thing to focus on. Thank you Steve for sharing and Adam for facilitating access to this insight.

This is a world I know nothing about. The Wing Chun I train is all about optimal angles and intense forward pressure, but watching these videos I'm always learning that the world is much bigger than I thought. It is my dream to one day make my way to Canada and train with Adam for an extended period of time.

This guy is so advanced that no one can really understand what he is talking about. It's because his ability with Qi is beyond even the mist experienced martial artists. That's because most do not practice internal stuff and rely exclusively on the strike/grapple thing. Too bad because knowing about internal energy gives you a huge advantage in so many levels. Adam, do you practice the stuff he is demonstrating? I ask because I have a ton of respect for your ability and knowledge and would really like to learn Qi gong, if for no other reason than to improve my health.

Wow he's really on another level. Even though I understand what he's saying. Applying it is a whole other ballgame.

The compartmentalization is what you do to break up learning into digestible components. The seamless unification of the components comes by reinforcing common basics between the components otherwise the transition between them will not be smooth.

thank you for sharing such insights your videos mean alot to me i find myself understanding something new whenever i watch any of your videos would you discuss modifications done to martial arts for me anything Bruce Lee would be gold but im interested in what mantis8 he used that wasn't the backfist or any style he took something from and modified i think my wc is off when i do the forms my right shoulder bugs me not sure if the rolling wrist motions in the forms are being done wrong by me i want to get good at spring energy and understand Chi sau Just need to do some more looking into James demile and see if his Chi sau made simple video is what i want have you looked at Bruce Lees workout and thought about what should be taken out behind the head press ups i didn't like for example i want to understand some drills and principles so i can make my understanding and ability to react correctly automatically increase i understand i have asked more than one question i would be greatful to have any answered i want to be able to modify stuff better and understand the process better mainly why is this the most efficient i know you are not a big i wanna talk about Bruce for views i respect that so much but Bruce did martial arts and refined them in such a way it took all bs tradition and anything ineffective and replaced it i like the jun fan trapping there is this Japanese fellow i like and Ron baliki i can tell you actually can execute movements and its not mouthjitsu going to watch part 3 now

Nice dig at "Hong Kong" wing chun...except that Hong Kong Wing Chun actually has fighting experience and what is demonstrated in this video is in the same category as aikido.
