I worked as 2nd Assistant Camera on the episode that Willian Shatner guest directed and I can tell you that Mr. Carradine was coached by a martial artist and all those segments were shot with every move blocked in slow motion and then speed up in post production. I certainly would not have guessed he was "highly" trained
@Gary-e5w9n Kam yeun, if I spelled his last name correctly, was his kung-fu instructor for the later half of the show he had several teachers who taught him martial arts.
Warner Bros retained the rights of the entire series, seasons 1 and 2 were released on DVD back in 2014-2015, but seasons 3 and 4 never had a proper release, though you can find torrents of the entire series (recorded directly from when they originally aired) floating around. The show kinda went downhill during the second half of season 4, but overall it was probably my favorite show of the 1990s and I never missed an episode during its original run, which coincided with my high school years.
The long and short of it is that the production company (PTEN, a Canadian producer) closed down shop and no other production company ended up picking the show up. I think they were struggling because they didn't have the budget they did in the earlier seasons and just ended up cutting corners. From what I read later, David Carradine was in a pretty bad state health wise at the time due to excessive drinking and they began to rely more and more on stuntmen to do the more complex martial arts moves. Nevertheless, the whole acting troupe really held it together up until the end. Funnily enough, it was only a little over a year after the show ended that Mortal Kombat: Conquest hit the airwaves, ushering in the beginning of a new era of martial arts television where fancy stunt work took priority over dramatic acting and involved plot lines. Chalk it up to me being nostalgic for my teenage years as I get closer to 40.
No Clue eighter but you can get it on DVD now... I did too and still do... I have the whole collection on DVD... All 4 Seasons of this Series dude... and it's not Nexflex, but Netflix...
This is in Hungarian. In Hungary, every TV show and movie that is broadcasted in the TV is dubbed. The real question is why someone uploads this to RU-vid with an English title. It's very misleading.
I love Kung Fu The legend continues but it's not in English y'all got it in a foreign language why is it there's no episodes the whole full episodes on RU-vid or any other place why is it so hard to find I rather watch that then some of the crap they got on TV today
I have been trying to see when caine and peter are reunited but cant find it the closest I have is where Peter says its a showling priest. I would love to see the full episode but would settle with the reunion scene Can someone help me.
Go to dailymotion.com and type Kung Fu The Legend Continues. The quality of the videos is VERY poor, but it's better than nothing. They have all four seasons.
I always wonder was that actually Kung Fu david carradine was doing, it seem more like tai chi more so than Kung Fu, I never seen David Carradine actually throw a side kick, fight scenes were really lame.
No wonder it got canceled fight scenes sucked and he clearly couldnt do martial arts probably why it always seem someone else was really doing the half ass moved chuck Norris was doing Walker during this time clearly proved who was better
+Vam The Anomaly Chis Potter had issue with David Carradine's drinking. But read into Chris' comment as you wish ! Chris went on to say words similar to these, sometimes David was late on set for the day's shoot.
+Randy Cable I mean I know they were trying to make it look like he was more skilled than the enemies he fought but this was lame. Glad I never watched this show. This is why he probably ended up doing roles in movies like "Big Stan". Now THAT was funny and more suited for how he "fought".
David Carradine had massive drinking issues and his physical health was in a state of decline, he was much better in the original series. Generally speaking, the best thing about this show was the soundtrack and scenery, and Chris Potter's fight scenes were much better from an action standpoint.
Carradine has no martial arts skills, but he sure likes autoerotica!. Yep folks, he got drunk, masturbated and choked himself to death. Very Oriental of him!?
