The craziest thing is that this was actually shown at the Cannes film festival. Which is basically the most prestigious film festival in the world.

I was born back in 07 and i know hell of alot of stuff from the 80s! (Btw i laughed my ass off to the references, especially in the beginning at the entrance of the arcade, u can see recreations of Crockett and Tubbs there)

Love the movie, so many levels to it, it sucks that most people do not get all the references. I am 43 and i pretty much picked up on all of em at this point, but so many that are 39 or younger are missing out on tons of related content to the 80's. I watched this a couple times with my 12 year old and took me over an hour to explain what so many shots are referring to, especially the kung fu references alone are crazy ( Bruce Leroy for example)

Hasselhoff has a video for this movie, just look for it. It's basically the Hoff, in a music video version of the movie. The scene at the police station. They could only afford one police officer costume. So they used the same one on different actors and then just cgi'd them all into one scene.

You mentioned the accents, the reason they have a bit of accent or a lot (some of them) is because the cast in this movie are all Swedish I believe, David Sandberg included. Was rad as f**k too watch though, haha. Such a throwback.

I'm the type of person that cracks up at 80's movie one liners, already. Arnold Schwarzenegger is notorious for these. He'll punch some into a freezer, and be like, "Chill out.", or when he kills Bennet in Commando by throwing a pipe through his body, and into a water cooler, says, "Let off some steam.". Fucking hilarious. With that being said this movie was right up my alley. I just saw it on Netflix, and I laughed through the entire movie. It's all so ridiculously over the top, and 80's af. Most enjoyable thirty minutes of media I've seen in some time.

Gotto see the very small details too, like when Hackerman is hacking time when hes tapping the keygoard like hell and the letters comes up exactly like hes pressing "lkjdalskjdkgöslkaodi" hilarious, very funny if you remember those hacker movies from that time when they where hacking, and no idea how a computer worked.

It's funny to me that as soon as subtitles needed to be read, their entire attention and focus were put towards reading. It was incredibly easy to see they had trouble keeping up with the subtitles; as evidenced by their blank and glossed over stares. Because of this, they missed out on the humor. The first clue was the opening, when the names of the actors and who they'd be playing came up. They only really read David Sandberg and Triceratops as those were the biggest words, but it appeared to take them awhile to actually comprehend the words at first. So they missed the names.

I think they also threw in that early-mid 90's stuff like thanks, bro in there on purpose because it still works. I mean Thor says "Stop, hammer time" and for some reason the chief says that thing about the mayor being up his ass "like a bag of viagra" which are definitely 2 early-mid 90's things. given all the attention to detail that was paid, I can't believe those were accidental.
