#Kurseong is located at an altitude of 1,483 metres and a town considered as a mid point between Siliguri and Darjeeling, which has a pleasant climate throughout the year. Kurseong is 34 kms from siliguri making it a perfect getaway for people who wants to refresh themselves from their busy schedule. The economy of this place is primarily based on education and tourism.
The name Kurseong was given by the original inhabitants (The Lepchas) who named their home "Kurseong" because every spring it came alive and bright with Kurson-Rip orchids hence, Kurseong is also known as the Land of white orchids. It is surrounded by a myriad of tea gardens, that includes Castleton, Makaibari, Ambootia and Goomtee all of which can be visited. Kurseong is also considered to be one of the best place for education as it has very well renowned schools and Institutions.
The motive behind us making this video is to promote our hometown which has spectacular views, historical monuments, tea estates, beautiful villages and has so much to offer but yet it is still not known to many in comparison to other places.
