Moll to me was the best Osmin, a fatherly Sarastro, a wonderful Rocco, a great Ochs, fantastic Gurnemanz...but too gentle as Hunding...I like Salminen for rhis role
Clever bloke. I think could have sung Wotan and done it better than most too. But he saw that to do so would have impacted on what he could have done afterwards and that Wotan is a HUGE sing...
I really loved James Morris as Wotan though. And this let Moll play one of the giants too. I loved this production each night they did one of the operas on PBS. I convinced a bunch of my friends to watch das rhinegold with me.
