Just because an artist is popular or a record critically beloved doesn’t mean it’s actually sold a ton of copies. That’s the lesson Kurt Vile learns in the latest episode of Talent Show, in which we challenge him to a classic game of “what’s sold more?” While Vile has his favorites-Nirvana over Pearl Jam, The Beatles’ Help over Hard Day’s Night and Magical Mystery Tour-he quickly learns the stuff he likes isn’t necessarily popular-or at least as popular as other LP alternatives.

Nevermind sold 30 million copies worldwide, Ten "only" 13 million. So it's only the US market that's gone mad.

Hahaha it’s so easy to perceive Nirvana or this album as the “better” one. Ironically, it’s more ignorantly praised. Kurt would of loved that haha. Ten hands down from start to finish. Came out first too

@@robbyxoxo387 i grew up on both, and id say ten was way more influential for its musicianship and power, nevermind had the simple but effective musicianship and power. hard choice and its all preference but ten (and vs.) hit us hard over here

@@ejRecording same here! And then for PJ to go the run they had with VS and Vitology and even further from there is incredible. I always question if Nirvana would be as impactful had Kurt stayed alive and kept making music. Him dying really blew them up and can be a bit misleading. Outside of Nevermind they’re best album is Unplugged. Other albums not as good and hate to say it but live they didn’t hold a candle near PJ energy

A Hard day's night : only 1, 600, 000 ? Cmon , that's not true, on Wiki they say 4,000,000 in the US. So maybe 1M the first year, yes, but she don't talk about the reissues, right ?

Why was this recommended to me by youtube... I couldn't give two farts what Kurt does or does not know! People are not more accessible because they tell you what they may in the moment... Crazy.
