Kuroshima is a tiny island within Yaeyama. Kuroshima of Taketomi-cho is an island rich in its performing arts. The people surrounded by the beauty of nature were sometimes faced with its harsh realities. Even while struggling with the devastation of typhoons, the people remained optimistic and expressed their joy of being able to work through a commitment to their performing arts. One can sense the same strong energy of people living on the neighbor islands.
