Even if you don't know what a workstation in general is, Christian Martirano from Kurzweil in this video gives you an overview of what this ubiquitous instruments genre entails, and where the PC3x falls into that genre.
Christian also goes through setting up a "setup" (not redundant--watch the video) on the Kurzweil PC3x, which gives you the option of layering up to 32 voices per patch. There's also en explanation of the effects and DSP blocks and the graphical "wiring" display that makes creating complex setups on the PC3x easy.
