I've always wanted to try an underwater aircraft wreck diorama, and I have some of the components, but I never have time to work on it... I would love to see you try it! The idea is to create something like the Pacific underwater wreck sites. Imagine a miniature airplane model, 1/144th scale or smaller, fully submerged in a very light blue resin, sitting on an ocean floor, partially disintegrated and corroded away, buried into the sediment. This whole diorama could be basically a resin cube, with all sides polished, and since the resin is nice and clear, you can look through it from any angle.

Natural materials are so nice due to their fractal nature. Something small can look the same as something big in the right context.

Nice work. I had an old modeling book with amazing an water tutorial. In that the guy added the lacquer in 3 or 4 layers: the first/lowest layer had dark green/brown paint added, the next slightly less etc, etc. The top layer had little or no paint added. I always remember it looked cool so thought I'd share o7

Reminds me of the little diorama that I made as a teenager 40-odd years ago of a 1/72 Pz III. The diorama itself was made out of a box. IIRC, I glued some small twigs/sticks to the tank to give it some individuality. It wasn't in the same class as your diorama (which is amazing!), but I enjoyed making it anyway :-)

An easier way to create waves for next time is to use clear dry PVA glue and use airbrush at 15PSI and create waves with clean air.

Something that's cheaper but works just the same as vallejo water effects is Mod Podge glue. Just stipple it on with a brush or creates ripples with an airbrush and it dries perfectly clear.
