Khvicha Kvaratskhelia isn’t a “one season wonder”. At times he’s not been at the level he was at last season, but even when he hasn’t been at his best he has shown flashes of glimpses. Napoli as a whole have been very poor as in a span of 12 months they went from winning Serie A to not playing in any European competition next season as they’re in 9th place. This has affected Kvara’s form, he’s not the only one at Napoli struggling right now. Not to mention that in Serie A other teams know how to play against him and he has been double teamed a lot and has found it difficult to impact games. You look at his stats last season 14 goals and 17 assists in all competitions including 12 goals and 10 assists double figures in both goals and assists in first ever season in a top 5 European league. He has kinda regressed this season as he has 12 goals and 7 assists and I think it’s true that players like that you don’t want to judge their performances by goals and assists because Kvara is a winger who can create so many chances completed a lot of dribbles and people will say he’s ghosting if he doesn’t score or assist. He’s known for his ability to create for himself and his teammates has phenomenal technique and dribbling as well. The guy is an elite winger and while people only players solely by stats, he’s one of those players where what he brings to a team goes beyond just the numbers. He’s just going through a dip in form and this happens with a lot of players where after being elite in one season, they’re a different player the following season. Next season whether it’s at Napoli or another club, he’ll be back to his brilliant best because we all saw how good he was last season and he’s went through a rough period of form at times this season. I expect him to make a big money move in the future because similar to Victor Osimhen, Kvaratskhelia won’t stay at Napoli forever. I disagree with those who are writing him off as a “one season wonder”, we need to see whether or not he can replicate the form he showed last season in the future.
The team has given up this season, and Kvara is maintaining the level, but I noticed that they give him passes less often, I don’t know what this is connected with, but Napoli’s problems are in defense and midfield.
