I am excited to start the new year with the kickoff of the Major League Fishing Bass Pro Tour next week in Kissimmee, FL. Here’s a detailed look into my new Nitro Z-21 that I will be competing in this year. KevinVanDam.com
thats the exact boat i learned to fish on, my dads hydra sports with a merc 150 black max, a few years later he got a hummingbird paper graph!! woo hoo we were the talk of the town! LMAO boy have things changed, you dont even have to bend over anymore
@@sandymitchell8182 seriously though. personally i think its a bit cheating to have sonar. I get that they use it to see the contours of the lake but they can also mark fish. Idk, dont really care for it. I like going off what i know, it feels much more rewarding to pay attention to the lake all year and learn the lay of the land and habits of the bass, without electronics, just me, and my rods.
I Love My Country!! You can make a great living catching Bass, nothing wrong with it as long as you do it with style!! God Bless KVD, best wishes at Toho!!
If you're a off shore fisherman all these high Tech toys are Definitely a huge help. I think nowadays it's less fishing and more catching. I would find it more interesting watching you fish from a 14' Jon boat with no electronics just a trolling motor. You're still a great Angler with or without the new toys. Good luck this year.
KVD rocking some Metallica in the morning, I love it! Awesome rig! That trolling motor almost looks like some kind of chain gun when its up like that, a futuristic bass slaying machine lol
Great looking rig Kevin! We purchased the 195 tournament edition aluminum Series last year with the 150 Merc 4 stroke. Really have enjoyed it! Nitro Z21 maybe our next rig!!! Best of luck this year!!!
Great setup good luck KVD hope they put you on live I’ve kept up with you since you hit the scene when I was a kiddo great career hope you smash the champion ship on the new tour your first year on it just like you did the first season of MLF
Jean Claude Van Dam used to kick ass when he was young, but Kevin Van Dam KICKS BASS! I would love to be able to sit in the back of his boat even if it was to just hand him rigged up poles, and carry his gear for a day. The lessons that I would learn from him would be invaluable.
Kevin should check out the video of the Australian group that tested the Eliminator nut for noise reduction. It may not be the obvious thing to do. Also, how's he going to get the Eliminator off if the shear pin fails? (Answer: He'll need to drill it to get to the slotted end of the motor's shaft. I wonder if he's prepared for that on the water?)
just bought a 2019 nitro z21 elite from Pro's choice Marine cant wait until the wind dies down around chicago to take it out. nitro's are the best boat for the $$
That"s A Killer Set up Brother , Got to have the tune Going with some Metallica ,Im the same way For Whom the Bell Tolls 1st thing in the Morning, Thanks Buddy good luck 2019 Season.
Kevin, you'd be more than welcome to come to the Northeast with that beautiful rig between the first of May and Mother's Day in May and take me Smallmouth fishing out on the lakes of Cape Cod, MA.( there are a couple of really good ones!)......lol..... It was really good in a dream state so I figured I'd share... LMAO........ after all I was dreaming!
hi Kevin i fished in a 4 ft deep 2 mile run to deep water i used a 14 ft v boat with a 4 stroke 9.9 mercury with fish finder i map the bay i went in and out around weeds and stumps! i also have a 361v ranger with a jack plate i removed older v6 150 evinrude it took 5 ft draft i re-powered it with a newer 60 hp Johnson it weight about half the weight of the old motor! what your advice to run this in that low water bay? in end of 2005 i left Canada work to go on 2006 bass tour, in January 2006 i had a stroke, vision problems in 2009 i was found to have blood clots i was on first gen blood thinner, end of 2018 i was put on new type of blood thinner this made a real change in my ability to fish and hunt this why i run my boat and camped it was nice that why i fixed my other boat! it would be better to run! on type of weather days! i live about 50 miles from lake with camp area there! there 3 boating launches 2 shawl ones is deeper bigger boat launch area its in a big more costly rv and campers in place in the camping area! one place is no grid power, water or sewer it twice as much as tent or solar powered area i have solar & other power systems i used solar to control my electric use at home and camping! solar works in a fishing boat too!
all these things were a skill you had to learn, keeping the boat in place with the trolling motor in the wind while casting, trimming the engine, marking spots with the big rock and water tower. now you dont even have to bend over
Hi Kevin!! I have a great idea!!! When you are ready for your next boat, I'm positive I could not afford it, but I would love to buy this one when you are through with it! Good idea???
My Bullet looks like a corvette sitting next to this tank! 😂 my 2 stroke 225XS sports, sports master lower unit will dust this whale, no way this boat will go into the 80s! Nitro the Bayliners of bass boats! 😏 it’s like sitting in huge recliners! 😳
Lol, you said you ran those batteries for 4 yrs and they still tested 99.9%! That's funny, you haven't run nothing for four years, you get new stuff every year....good one! All joking aside, nice rig and go get'em in 2019.
I would love to go to lithium, but not affordable right now. Hoping they will drop in the near future. GalaxyRod, here is another angler who purchased some lithiums and have had them for several years, Ott Defoe. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-0-8XT6JPgl0.html
Hi Kevin, given all the high tech stuff you have on your boat, do you have an IT guy on your cell phone speed dial? LOL. Let's hope we don't have a solar flair in the middle of a tournament. I know today it is a necessity in tournament but it just seems it was at least less complicated 20 years ago. The winners here are the manufacturers who are getting us to spend all this $$$$$$.
Kevin, love the boat and set up. Who did your rigging on your talons, lights and such. I'm ordering a new Z21 in two months. I'm installing Talons, Dual Helix at console and Bow, 360, Ulterra but I really like your lights, and the rigging looks really clean. Thanks for any input. Chuck
and I gurantee your skill and experiance cant be bought, I cant afford to fish anymore. i wont spend 200k on a truck and boat that cost more then my house
KVD Are you sure you can use a Minn kota Precision On-Board Chargers on those batteries you have ? I have the same charger and the manual says only Gel Cell, Flooded Lead-Acid, AGM/High Performance AGM,and Equalize mode. jim
Kevin, have you EVER ran out of battery juice? You are the power fisherman of power fisherman, always on your trolling motor... how have they held up for you? Are you now sponsored by them?
Went To the Tracker Boat center in Shakopee. Mn. to look at a used boat. It was crap so I looked at a new boat. They emailed me a quote including taxes and all fees along with a credit app. I filled out the app online overnight and went to the dealer at 8am when they open. They said the price went up overnight $1,505.00. They don't want to honor their own written quote that's less than 24 hours old. Then at 5pm I get a call and email saying...OOOOPs. Its the 2022's that went up in price not the 2021's. still want the boat?
todays bass anglers aren't the same as the ones in the 70's, 80's, and early 90's. Tech has literally made it so easy to fish. Sure it increases those weigh ins, but it becomes boring watching everyone catch 6+ lbs fish every time. I enjoyed watching tournaments come down to ounces in past tournaments. My local tournament only allows a fish finder, you actually have to look for the fish and not let them come to you, imagine that.
@@motorcycleislife8296 So true! Purchase the boat that's big enough for the majority of the waters you fish. Everyone would love to have a Cadillac but most people are driving Nissan Altimas, Toyota Camrys...etc.... I think the intelligent thing to do is spend the money on your electronics and the new Ultrex trolling motor rather than having a rig with an aircraft carrier front deck and a 250 on the back!
