Great quizzing by Pranit and I hope Pavan can return soon. I would sincerely like to suggest making point splitting a little more canonical at least in the places it can be. For instance when there is a clear X and Y in the question, I would suggest pre-declaring a point value for X and a point value for Y and then awarding them individually (this used to be the case in some earlier editions). Often the split in such cases is swayed towards the person who gives a complete answer as in the case of Washington+Delaware in this quiz. However the person giving the full answer is going later and are naturally helped by elimination (there are also gray issues of no reaction/partial reactions by KV which are very natural). As such it is impossible to assume anything about what they knew and what they didnt. If partial points are declared in advance (in the case of things like X and Y) it will also help the quizmaster not fall in an unenviable spot of making a difficult choice. As for the points added for the pass they can be awarded to the person who ends the answer but a different canonical choice can be made here as well.
