This is the era when you used to look forward to going out, just having a good time. No drama, just dancing, networking, and then the meet-up at a restaurant afterward just to keep the party going.
Yep, one actual negative of Gangsta Rap. The other so-called negatives (to me) are false or exaggerated. But somehow it ended this type of Rap (Club, Party, comical, finesse,...)
Speaking of "Pure" this is "I know you got soul" by Bobby Byrd with James and his band backing him up. I still like what rap did with it. Rakim used it too.
@@Johnny-pj2pl Yes me and my friend used to be in love with him. He was just a few years older than us when he came out. I never knew he was from Queens until I watched a documentary on him.
Our cardio was on FLEEK back then. The artists, back-up dancers, the dance floor. You could break a sweat thinking about what moves you would do to the beat. A much healthier time in music.
This is when music and rap were clean, fun and had a beat to dance to. No shade. Women had real hair and kept their clothes on. Straight up fun! Miss those days, thank goodness for You Tube preserving the best of the best in music,
What was the official name for that gear he used to wear? I had some of that stuff in the early 90's and im trying to explain it to my kids but cant find any pics of them online. They were those Rayon, polka dot tops and bottoms. MAN I cant believe i used to rock that stuff, lol
Kwame set a whole trend from his style of music his swag from famous high top ramp hair cut with the dye in front to the poker dot clothes. I love his style and music I was blessed to grow up in this era ❤
Same. Bought the boy genius off rhe strength of the single, play the hell out of it. Bought a day in the life without hearing a track and did the same. 😂
🗣🗣🗣 6th Grade Yo is a Baby. Ownleeeue Was put in 1990. I Was a Young 20 🤣🤣 it WAS a great Dance Track off his Album Kwame the Boy Genius & The New Beginning 👐🏾
Oh snap! I remember exactly where I was when this song was popular. It was a Friday and I had just got paid, clothes dry cleaned, ride detailed and fresh box cut from my barber. Oh you ask where was I. Honolulu Hawaii and going to club Area 51. Hot ass dance club where all the beautiful ladies gathered to be picked up if you had any GAME. I'd jump in my Peugeot 505 Turbo and get my valet park. Step into Area 51 on tilt just a lil. Then begin to push my game on some of those beautiful tourist looking for some Hawaiian fantasy. Every Friday night was a success...yaw feel me?
This song I remember my my sons dad and I were together always clubbing when we first were together and he would enter dance contest and win at times with this song !! Man what happened to him ??? Those were the days !!!
Kwame and A New Beginning created something special with this track, the dance floors of that time at the NCO Club on Fort Dix, NJ were jam-packed with this cut, well arranged, the horn section sounds real even though I'm sure played with a sampler/synth, then ending with what sounds like a real trombone. To this day I remember the excitement on the dance floor with the beginning of the 2nd Verse @ 1:34; Kwame's delivery is crisp and clear, and Tasha's Vocals, forget about it!!! Lastly, the great sample-groove is from Bobby Byrd's "I Know You Got Soul"
yeah this hit was tight ,Danced to this at Ft Carson clubs Co and local Colorado Spring club called the Paliedus 1990-1992... Saw RIFF there also... Also was At the NCO club FT Lewis Wa... you know you were in shape back then to be in the Army then to go to clubs and dance
March AFB and Norton AFB all night Disco's . Then Club Metro Riverside California. All we did was dance. Club full of Beautiful Cali women. Best times ever.
Omg .... Late 80's early 90's Nostalgia 🤗 I had my cut pixie(Halle Berry/ Toni Braxton) cut having fun in the club dancing like there was no tomorrow (sweating my hair out🤦🏾♀️)The club was packed & hot but those were fun times🤗
I remember when this song came out and I was single and I felt but naked. Let me take you by the hand and talk to you my heart would literally bleed. My beautiful sister I hope you dance to it at your wedding and dance to it well
He still jamming too. I saw him Friday night in Charleston S.C. He was performing with an artist signed to his label. Ms.Vivian Green and they were awesome.
This takes me back to nothing but good times!! Dancing all hard in the club or whenever it came on, was go time!! These kids don't know nothing about this era!! Make sure you keep banging these hits so your kids and grandkids keep them alive and well!! 2019
