You should go read that book by Lenin. He's use of language is very engaging (at least in the English translation) and he says many things that are still, sometimes more than back than, true. If you struggle with staying focused while reading, like I do, then the good news is that all of his books have free audiobooks on RU-vid.

Your other choices would be to go back to mercantilism, traditional agrarianism, hunting and gathering, communalism, trading or pure command economics.
