[4K] Kwick-E-Mart Store Complete Tour, join us in the town of Springfield as we take a look at the Simpsons Merchandise in the convenience store from The Simpsons TV Show at Universal Studios Florida
The Simpsons Kwick-E-Mart is located in the Springfield area of Universal Studios Florida. The gift shop was originally Back to the Future gift shop selling Back to the Future merchandise to accompany the Back to the Ride which closed 2007. The Simpsons Ride replaced the Back to the Future ride and the gift shop was also rethemed.
On October 17, 2007, the gift shop was themed to the Kwik-E-Mart store from the Simpsons TV Show. A Kwik-E-Mart also opened at Universal Studios Hollywood.
The Kwik-E-Mart, a parody of American convenience stores, such as 7-Eleven, sells Simpsons Merchandise, such as plush toys, Simpsons clothes, candy, Simpsons gifts and souvenirs as well as giant edible Simpsons donuts. Orange-flavoured Duff Energy Drink cans are also available.
In the Simpsons TV show, the Kwik-E-Mart is run by the Simpsons character Apu Nahasapeemapetilon voiced by Hank Azaria. Due to criticism of stereotyping with the character, since 2017 Apu appears only in the background but no longer has speaking parts.
There is plenty for fans of The Simpsons here in Springfield, U.S.A.: Home of The Simpsons at Universal Studios Florida including two rides, a motion simulator called The Simpsons Ride and a spinning ride called Kang & Kodos' Twirl 'n' Hurl plus all the favorite locations including Moe's Tavern, Kwik-E-Mart and Lard Lad Donuts.
The Simpsons Springfield area sits on the location of the Back to the Future ride and the International Food and Film Festival. On September 7, 2006, Universal Studios Florida announced that Back to the Future: The Ride would close on March 30, 2007. The Simpsons Ride opened on May 15, 2008 replacing the Back to The Future Ride.
Universal Studios then closed the International Food and Film Festival which was adjacent to The Simpsons Ride in 2012 and opened Springfield on June 1, 2013. This included Fast Food Boulevard, which housed Krusty Burger, Moe's Tavern, The Frying Dutchman, Cletus' Chicken Shack, Flaming Moe's, Lisa's Teahouse Of Horror, and Luigi's Pizza.
A second phase consisting of Lard Lad Donuts, Duff Gardens, Phineas Q. Butterfat's, and Bumblebee Man's Taco Truck, opened on August 2, 2013, while the last item Kang & Kodos' Twirl 'n' Hurl attraction opened on August 11 2013.
Universal Orlando Resort, commonly known as Universal Orlando or simply Universal, formerly Universal Studios Escape, is an American theme park and entertainment resort complex based in Orlando, Florida. The resort is operated by Universal Parks & Resorts, and is the second-largest resort in Greater Orlando, after nearby Walt Disney World Resort.
Universal Orlando consists of two theme parks, Universal Studios Florida which opened on June 7th 1990 and Universal's Islands of Adventure which opened on May 28th 1999 There is also a waterpark, Volcano Bay, which opened on May 25th 2017. A third theme park, Epic Universe and an accompanying hotel is currently under construction and is due to open Summer 2025.
