The theme behind the motto of "Judge less, help more" is being a good person, and acting towards others as you'd want to be treated. I don't know your parents background, but I totally understand your parents generation moved out mainland China/Hong Kong/ or other places because of the poverty and isolation of China by western countries, and also that's the reason they didn't want you to learn to speak Mandarin, but now, which turns out to be a huge mistake, right?
