Yeah! I doubt anyone will see this comment. It's now 2022 and I disassemble my kit KX3 to tighten the 2m and HF antenna chassis connectors and review this Elecraft video to confirm reassembly. This fellow ham has NO antistatic protection. He handles all the boards smearing his body oil and touching the connectors and IC leads. I installed my 2m board before this video and followed all precautions and I cleaned the chassis with de-natured alcohol when I assembled the KX3 kit. It has all available options. It was my baby and I took very good care. Now it's almost an antique. But, as all my radios past and present I still love it.
I am surprised that there is no ESD protection at all... I expected that at first it will be installed ESD mat then cable and wristband then short intro why it is important. Even at Elecraft nothing like that used. :)
Why on earth did you shoot this video at that angle? Terrible. Found myself wanting to turn my head constantly. Sorry but you did not do the product any justice.
