@@janinesebek4280 I just finished the left side diamond pattern...I am using 5mm rope though...I had to cut my first one off because the ropes were getting too short...I I did it again...each of the 5 strands I made 40Ft...yes ft long...two ends I have 5 ft left...I'm starting the right diamond pattern now with the 40 ft pieces...but I have marked the end of each on to see what pieces are longer and shorter at the end so I can cut accordingly...If I ever do this again =D...it is beautiful though

@@sherryengel9588, quick question: when using the 40 ft of cord did you just fold in half so the left and right cords were equal lengths or did you make the left side longer/shorter per the actual instructions. This one is a bit confusing for me...thanks for any information you can provide.

Me too... and I wish I have found your comment before to start it. They really should say correct as we see in the video hers did well... It is beautiful but really bad tutorial with wrong informations and the end she don't even explain correct how she did the last thing, the size how many of them... For me The Cat Craft still the best tutorials ever, attention in every detail. I will not follow this one here anymore. Macrame is expensive to wast a lot.

I wish that I'd read your comment before starting! I've torn out the large diamond twice. Even the longest length given in the video is too short for the pattern. How long did you end up going?

As much as I love this channel and her patterns, her measurements are SO out of whack. I’ve had a piece sitting on my macrame rack for the past 2 years because the rope lengths were all kinds of wrong and I just got annoyed with trying to adjust them (and I had already cut everything to the lengths she provided). I decided to try again today, and got annoyed again. I have wasted soooooo much rope. I’ve already invested so much time, money and materials into this (and I’m stubborn!), so I want to make it work. But I’m really not enjoying the process, which for me, is part of the charm of macrame.

Hi Stephanie, I am new to this. I need to know how much cord should I get? Also I love the the cord she is using. Do you by chance know what type of cord this is?

@@selinazack-johnston4238 4mm 3-ply cotton rope. If I were you I would buy at least 200m. If you add up the lengths used in the video, the total amount you will need is about 170m.

I followed this tutorial and yes, just mirror the left side. came up beautifully.

add 40cms extra to that 5 cords(650,460,380,460,650) so the measurements of the 5 cords will be 650+40=690 (280|410) 460+40=500 (300|200) 380+40=420 (210|210) 460+40=500 (300|200) 650+40=690 (280|410) do this on both the sides.I followed the same and i got done pretty well. Hope u understood this :)
