It has been debunked. There were no POW's on board and the plane was heading AWAY from Ukraine when it was shot down. Also the list of supposed POW's released by Russian's had names that were already traded back in previous exchange (meaning they were alive). Also even months later Russians have not managed to produce a single POW body as evidence. Initial photos of the crash site showed only a few bodies - likely the flight crew and not these 60+ POW's Russia claimed. Another Russian lie.
