It was the biggest meet of her life because it would qualify her for these Visa Championships which would qualify her for the Olympic Trials. So, yes, it was in fact the biggest meet of her life. Tim Daggett is nit-picky but he does know what hes talking about. He's been in the sport of gymnastics for a long time now.
I know it's a silly comment, but Kyla's leotard is so beautiful! It's perfect to Brazilian Team in London (yeah, Imma brazilian, but the USA always has a great taste for leotards).
Actually no, its perfect to the aussie team because they used one that looked nearly exactly like that before her. It is so annoying when ppl think that green and yellow is only for brazil, its literally the colours of aussie
Seriously? Because she's wearing a green and yellow leotard it's considered "Australia style"? Do Australians own the "green body, white sleeves" style leo? Please. If she had worn a red and white leo, would it be Japanese style? It's just two colors on a leo that she probably liked together.
Actually, the US Classics--up to that point--were the biggest meet of her life. She was a first-year senior in 2012 and those Classics were widely regarded as the first of the three big deciding meets (Classics, Nationals, Trials) for the Olympic team. It may not carry the weight of other competitions by name, but in 2012, it was a very big deal for US Olympic hopefuls in women's gymnastics.
I know a little girl who has so much potential for gymnastics :) I was babysitting her and the whol time she was outside showing off her catwheels and stuff and i showed her what these girls have learned to do and her eyes just lit up and she kept asking to see more of them :)

I think you must be mistaken, the US has a hit or miss taste for leos. However, Kyla has always been great at picking out leotards for herself. One of the best dressers in gymnastics in my opinion.

He's right there is a lot of pressure in the competition but from personal experience in other sports taking the training tool away so you can practice without it is really important. Otherwise you freak out in the competition of its not there. Your mind becomes so focused on the training tool not being there that you stop performing at your best. Props to Marta for seeing that! And now look at her...she's an olympic athlete!
I just think he's trying to defend her, which is good on her part, but yeah Marta knows what she's doing. It was the biggest meet at that time, but if she does well in trials then the olympics are soon to come.
Nice routine, bit strange that she would pick an Australian style leotard (green body, white sleeves) that Australia has been competing in since 2000 or even before that, but her gymnastics is superb!
