Took my daughter to see the tour in 2023 (that Dave wasn't on) and this tour. Glad Dave's back. There is a big difference. All 4 OGs are magical together.
I hate leafblowers too! This is a great interview/conversation. Dave sounds like he is "on" something, but he keeps it together. Nice to see and hear from him again!
Diamond Dave Navarro, last of the guitar gods. We got 10 year old on RU-vid playing EVH with their eyes closed, but Dave is one of those guys who get more out of 2 chords. Though he is a master of the fretboard, he understands horses for courses.
I think now that Jane's has imploded, Dave should do his 2nd solo album but make it an instrumental guitar and band album WITHOUT singing. Since he loves getting lost in playing guitar and doesn't like lead singing, make it just guitar, bass and drums. I say have Eric play bass and Stephen play drums. Basically Jane's without Perry. That would kick ass and be incredible on every level.
@@ixxgxx I do agree that JA is not JA without Perry. But not that he is the one that single handedly, solely made and makes the band what it is. Unfortunately i don’t think we will be getting a new album. ‘True Love’ seems to be their swan song… 💔
Man Prince to this day will forever be my first favorite artist and one hell of a guitarist, played 27 plus instruments. His performance with petty, the best was Dhani Harrison in absolute awe watching Prince. I miss him he should be here 1💜0(+>
Dave is wired right. He's secure, he's talented.. he's kind. I feel bad how this played out. Concerts scare me to be honest but I'd pay to go see Dave just cause he's important to me. He's super important in general. Thanks for being respectful, he doesn't have to do this and pander to us.
@@kratoleaf7619 Interesting comments from a bunch of people on this. I kinda wonder, not having heard many interviews with him, what's he sound like totally clean? Could he just sound like this, when he's comfortable talking with someone?
@@ericneville7382 his speech pattern speeds up and then down with some slurring. He is a very bright guy but he showed none of that in this interview. He is probably just depressed and embarrassed about what happened so I don't blame him for wanting to escape. Nothing like some some expensive wine and a few bangers. He actually looks very healthy, manicured and still very handsome so I don't think this is an everyday thing. He is a rock star for God's sake. Most people don't look like this guy at 56 yrs old. Mexicans age well with their dark features. His eyebrows and beard are very attractive. And I am a straight 55 yr old who has followed this band since the mid 80's. I went thru the 90s and the music was brilliant. Janes was the 80's band that created the 90's. Ministry, The Cure, Depeche Mode, NIN, Bauhaus, Sister's of Mercey and the Cult followed suit.
"The past 20 years or so, I don't think we've been doing it the right way. I think we've been a little bit too showbiz." I'm so glad they have Eric back in the band because I think a lot of us cringed at what we saw when he wasn't there.
I really liked the 2012 great escape stage show it was darkly lit at times and the band was the forefront the stuff in the back didn’t distract but was still fun to glimpse at times. I also love the 4 guys just trying to kill it alone and without a stitch of cinema
Yeah I couldn’t watch more than a few minutes of the interview. It’s obvious that Dave wasn’t sober during it and that really bums me out. I love Dave and JA and I wish them health and happiness
@@markp864 look i was sober for 5 years in aa, now im not, but he's sounds relapseing, right, ibe be great, he's rich and his guitar playing is amazing and I think he on tour, all rules straight out the window as long a u handle it?? $$$ the tour
This is a great interview but making me bummed out knowing the most recent events with Jane's. Let's hope they work it out, clearly there's lots of love between them...
He’s c always been this goofy in interviews and that sardonic Wit it there. From the old interviews When Dave’s high he lacks any sarcasm and is just sullen
Thank God they got rid of the background dancers, perry's wife etty seemed to always need to be part of the show, chanys a great musician but Eric brings that primal fucking feel that matches Perkins drumming style. Dave's a heavy metal david Gilmour. Perry's like know one else
I think this is a great interview. I love Dave even though we got into it one day on the phone ha ha. If he walked up to me vip and played the guitar man i would dance fuck the phone!
What Dave did in the intro usually throws an interviewer off so badly, it's hilarious and Kyle kinda did. He was laughing a bit nervously as this music nerdgod, but Dave is just trolling
lol, i can see now, that the bands 'oh well lets have a train wreck' vs perry's lead led to this breakup. i am sorry dave, please don't stop playing and stay inspired by anything that makes your soul happy.
I totally get the phone thing, I see parents watching their kids shows through their phones only to never watch it again. They miss the whole experience, pisses me off! I get it you want the keepsake, but in reality that's all it will ever be a video of something you fucking missed! 🤷♀
WW II Europe on the Eastern Front is a whole other focus of study. Then there is the Burma campaign..not quite the Pacific Campaign…WW II has unlimited areas of interest.
While a good player Navarro is not even close to being one of the greatest. And Quija boards are tinker toys compared to what you're into ha Dave? Is it me or does he seem impaired just a little?
if perry was singing, i dont understand why navarro could not lower the volume? perry was in front and was getting all the heat from ppl not being able to hear him, and navarro just ignored him, time to leave toxic masculinity aside w/big egos: navarro, if it wasnt for perry: no one would of know who navarro is/was? if your dog snapped at you once: would u get rid of it?? NO right? keep going n make music, enough of the drama rama NAVARRO, ( PERRY WAS IN HE'S RIGHT TO B HEARD/. BUT U FAILED TO LISTEN TO HIM, SO HE HAD IT.,
If my dog shoved me, then proceeded to walk me back screaming to my face, bully me and then punched me, HELL YES I would get rid of it… Also, do you really believe Etty’s narattive? (Asking in a very friendly tone)
That stuff is in the soundguy's hands: Volumes, mix etc- has nothing to do w/the band. Besides, Perry is experienced enough to know (even i am, & that's nowhere close to him) that stage sound is janky a lot of the time. If he was really having those issues, he could communicate it one way or the other to the sound guy. I'm thinking he's just not himself these days, honestly. & It saddens me, but i think if he's genuine with himself- objective i guess- he can come out of this & reach out to the dudes properly for renewal.
@@lightunseen896 anyone that has been in a band and played gigs even for a very short time knows the ‘sound and volume issues’ narrative is complete and utter BS. Their problems have always been interpersonal and Farrell is just impossible to work with apparently.
