Josh Homme sat down with Kyle Meredith backstage at this year's ACL Festival to discuss his latest LP, Like Clockwork, it's comparison's to earlier Queens material, and how he's keeping the big rock torch alive.
We just met them at a small acoustic show in Nashville a couple of weeks ago, and they were so gracious and nice to everybody. They are true rockstars in the sense that they care about their fans tremendously and they seemed annoyed at the people running things and interviewing them. They were so real and funny and down to earth. Honestly just good dudes.
around last christmas he had undergone a normal procedure for his leg which went terribly wrong and he was in bed for several weeks. He said this made him think about his family and friends and that he didn't want to enduce any more stress physical fatigue on him. You can google it
Incredible interview, even in 2015. Makes you think about stuff. I mean its not the interviewer that does it (no offence), he just doesn't stand in the way for an inspiring "speech". I guess Josh could interview himself and it would still be worthwhile to have a listen.
I think he just got his timeline confused. The incident may have been post-vultures, but it wasn't too long after the tour ended, at the latest. It certainly happened before the self-titled re-release tour. Josh has made many comments on how the near death experience influenced his attitude during that tour. As far as I know, the band was in recording mode around last Christmas. I remember Elton John making his QotSA collaboration announcement around the end of January.
he still drinks, I saw queens at a record store and he handed someone his drink. He said it was vodka. Probably doesn't drink as much as he used to though.
Dang I really didn't think that was that long ago. Now I don't know what the hell that guy was talking about. Maybe the dying thing, and he just got his timeline confused......? WHAT HAPPENED ON CHRISTMAS
