They are one of those bands that I just dont see how you can hate if you like metal. I dont think they are mind blowing but they always release solid doom-y death metal. I think Im gonna throw em on now
I love HHR and have ordered from them for over 15 years now....but Dawg is waaaay too hard on this "poser" calling stuff for me. This is the same dude that says he loves the Misfits pop album Famous Monsters...then craps on Autopsy? Come on man. I could see talking like this if you are still 16... but Im 45. Been listening to metal since 87... calling everything that doesnt fit your narrow mold "poser" and "weak" is just embarrassing imo...

A few hours after watching your interview with J Dawg, I realized that I'm 99% sure I knew Tom when we were teenagers. A mutual friend and I went with him and some other dudes to see Nocturnus, Godflesh, and Napalm Death at Mesusas back in the day if he's the guy I'm thinking of.

Only a sparse few bands can make the claim to have more then one milestone in their discography. Often imitated, but never (genuinely) duplicated. Acts of The Unspeakable is actually a fast album overall by Autopsy and is their most Grindcore influenced album so I don't know where you get the idea that it's too slow because while there are slow parts here and there it's mostly fast and grinding and isn't as Doom influenced as Mental Funeral. The album has 18 songs and its only 35 minutes long.

I discovered King Diamond when I was 13 in 1988, I literally love every single King Diamond album that the band has released. Maybe "The Institute" will finally be released someday...probably when I'm too old to rock out and I've lost my hearing...with my dumb luck lol. As far as Deicide goes, I also fucking love everything from their catalog, they're definitely in my top five of favorite death metal bands. SUBBED 🤘🏻
I love Jim Roe but Kyle is honestly a way better drummer imo memes aside. His performance on the albums “Blasphemy” and “Decimate Christendom” are insane!
With Deicide I always go first 3/4 and Stench. Surprisingly been having a little fun with Scars lately, but man those first 3 records smoke. For all-time greatest death metal album I gravitate to Pierced From Within.
Festering in the Crypt is Doom, the songs the Bleeding, Gallery of Suicide, and Return to Flesh contain elements of Doom. I own both of Incantation's Doom albums Mortal Throne of Nazarene, and Upon the Throne of Apocalypse. They are basically the same album, but reverse song order, and a different production. There is a 14 minute Epic Doom track on Diabolic Conquest also. You should checkout My Dying Bride, Anathema, Winter, Thorrs Hammer, Morgion, Demonic Christ - Punishment For Decadence ,Hooded Menace, Cianide, Paradise Lost, Asphyx, Usurper, Mythic, Cathedral, and Bell Witch

Autopsy rule! Mental Funeral and Severed Survival are in my top 10 favorite albums of all time! One of the few bands I love the whole catalog. Eric Cutler is a great guitarist!

Kyle from Incantation! Diabolical conquest is one of the few records I bought when I started collecting ! Got it at this hipster record store. I wish John would’ve signed it but got a picture with him since he was in a hurry, Also Charlie is a beast in drums seen him play before and he finished touring with Morbid Angel .
Primordial Domination is a totally underatted Incantation album. I rember when it came out it blew me away as far as new releases by there peers, in comparison \m/

the last album lost me. I loved them since the first EP which i ordered from HHB when it was first released. Maybe I'll give it another try in a few years but right now it's brought in too much mainstream influences for me to enjoy it. new Shed the Skin is some melodic stuff and reminds me of what Centinex gradually started doing in the mid 90s. and funnily enough now with the reborn Centinex that band shifted to full-on brutal style instead and began putting the melodic style stuff to their other band Demonical, who had started off pretty brutal. Demonicals' debut is a perfect hail to Left Hand Path without being a clone.

I dont get how anyone can talk shit about Autopsy for being "doomy" but at the same time praise Incantation, who also incorporate some heavy as fuck room riffs. Both bands rule btw. Autopsy definitely are an all time top 5 metal band
