I don’t know if I can trust your opinion anymore because when the products look crap you hype them up and when they actually look good you slate them haha
I feel like the shimmer shades are personal preference. Nicol keeps saying IF THEY WERE FOILED but Kylie didn’t make them foiled. Clearly she knows how to make good foiled eyeshadows. I don’t think she was going for that look. I think she was going for a softer valentines palette rather than a BA BAM kinda look lol. These shimmers are definitely more everyday rather than glam. Which isn’t a bad thing. It’s good to please everyone a little. Personally I think her eye makeup looks GORGEOUS with the slightly softer shimmer.
Agreed, soft shimmers are great for everyday looks. I personally don’t feel comfortable with metallic eyelids 24/7. This palette was meant for soft sexy looks, not really intense IG styles. Kylie even demonstrated a few looks with this recently and they were all soft and subtle. I would buy.
Exactly. I love some of her products, but you would think as famous as she is, she would have the money to put quality into her eyeshadows to make them the best.
Chloe Skye personally i think as a company they think they have “mastered” the formula because of some extremely successful launches that even nicol enjoyed.... but not all formulas work with the same pigments and honestly... every formula can always be improved and they dont realize it
@@NicolConcilio Yeah but she isn't a $900B company from selling to beauty gurus on youtube. I mean there are certainly people who wear heavy make-up and eye looks but for just an average person, they're likely not looking for a hyper-pigmented color. When I first saw the palette swatched I was pleasantly surprised to see that it wasn't something super vibrant, but rather something I could wear everyday without sticking to the same few boring nudes. I mean, you don't feel comfortable recommending it, but for those of us who are light make-up wearers, or people who want a more day to day look, I'm sure this video actually ended up being the best recommendation we could get.
I understand where you're coming from with being disappointed in the shimmer shades, however, I appreciate the slight lack in pigmentation. as someone who loves makeup, but is not great at applying it, and as someone who doesn't wear heavy makeup often, I like that with these shimmer shades being a little calmer I feel like I can wear them more often. maybe its just me, but sometimes when I see palettes that are raved about in the beauty community, I see them and think they're very impractical for a normal persons life 🤷🏼♀️ ps im a small youtuber :)
Agreed! I almost never wear shimmer because it's too flashy for every day wear. I love how sheer the shimmers in this palette are. Looks so sweet and feminine to me ❤
And the pigmentation ended up being just fine on the eyes. I don't think she should have spoken to the pigmentation just based on swatching them the night before because she was proven wrong once she actually used them they way they were meant to be used. I definitely feel like this review could have been better.
@@sparky10901 Did you even watch the same video I did? She was not proven wrong. Her opinion was also still the same. Those shimmers were awful and they were extremely dull. Nicol is right, they should have been foiled.
Every time I see a bad review of Kylie I think, “welp, she’s off the pr list now”. The Kylie pr team has the mentality of a 12 year old girl that can’t handle constructive criticism
Mary Loves Makeup77 are you kidding? This bimbo is being too picky With the makeup. Not all eyeshadows are a pressed pigment or a foil. And many, many, pallets have fallout, like modern renaissance, but no one cares and loves it. She probably just sucks at makeup 🤷🏻♀️

She never said that there was a lot of fallout, and that that’s why she doesn’t like the palette. And of course she’s gonna be picky, she wants to recommend only the best to her subscribers, how would u feel if some beauty guru said a palette was good when it really wasn’t, u go and buy it and u waste your money because it sucks? tbh the palette is cool but if you replace that one hot pink shade with a bluish lavender, you literally have the norvina palette. at least that's what it looks like from the pics/ vids i've seen. still a pretty palette tho
*Shannon Camara* I have the Norvina palette and I don't think it looks all that similar to this one. Maybe a color or two. However, the norvina palette is WAY better than this one. The shimmers in that one are phenomenal. I have modern renaissance, norvina and sultry. I would buy seconds of those before I purchased any of kylies.
Rebel Rose13 i own all of the Anastasia pallets you mentioned too. I got the valentines pallet a few weeks ago and I really like it. It’s not something that I think works for an everyday look, unlike the Anastasia palettes. But I’m curious as to why you don’t like the valentines palette?
I really want to see a comparison of Kylie's shadows and lip kits to see the dupes within her own collection. What eyeshadows are similar and already in palettes you own. A lot of her pinky-nude liquid lips dry down to look so similar. I would LOVE to see Kylie liquid lip dupes of Kylie liquid lips.

In all actuality, I thought the shimmers swatched fine. Every shimmer that I've ever owned, which is a looooooot, I've needed to use a setting spray, then a finger to pat the shimmer on. From watching your video, the palette looks good. So, I hope you're wrong about the quality of shadow.
I feel like Kylie’s products should be priced way lower considering the quality. I finally got a liquid lip from her and tried it for the first time and it was so dry and crumbled literally after an hour. Her products look pretty but I don’t think the quality is there :( I wanted to love it tho! You made a beautiful look nicol, I hope your neck gets better!

I agree! No offense to her, but it is her job to do this, plus it helps us when we see the colors actually applied. She could have re-applied the one she liked best!
I’ve been absent for a hot minute because law school takes up SO much of my time, but I don’t know how long Nicol has been saying “women AND MEN of color” but I really love that she has started to say that! It’s just something little but I do like the little bit of inclusivity where someone can be like “hey she is talking about me!” I don’t know, just something little and I like it! Just a suggestion! Makeupshayla said the shimmers were very "frosty" to her as well, but she used a very tacky creamy base when she got to the shimmers and they REALLY popped! I feel like the shimmers are very much made in the mindset of soft shimmery romantic looks in mind, but I think with a tacky concealer/creamy color placed on the lid will help them REALLY explode! Just a little help!
