Is the lack of understanding or willingness to appreciate what others go through truly no longer a thought.? For those who are no longer "growing up" there is no way to know what so many experience, the pressure they go through to feel as if they fit in. Unfortunately, UN-social media has created an awareness and a desire to wear and drive and vacation as so many others appear to. So many adults continually discount what they themselves fail to understand but it is that very lack of understanding or willingness to understand what causes the greatest problems. Telling a kid to ignore what they see and hear every day is virtually impossible, everywhere they go, everyone they see, and everything they might think about requires the use of technology in some way or another. To ignore what many have not lived without is not nearly as easy for them as it appears to be for the adults suggesting it. Technology though it definitely has its benefits, it most certainly has also created a world that has previously not been so present and in one's face. It's now impossible not to be aware of what others are doing, where they are going, what they are eating and what they wore when they ate it. To be a kid growing up it is those very "online lives" they see that they are trying so desperately to be a part of and having an adult discount it whether as a result of their not understanding it or not willing to consider it doesn't help that trying to come to terms with it, in fact, it only makes it worse. For those who discount it as a waste of time and energy, it is them who should educate themselves because they are the ones doing the most damage, no kid is able to shut it off, whether its Facebook, or Instagram or Snapchat or any number of other "priorities" technology is a fact of every life now, something few could ever manage to live without, teens or otherwise.
