“Got To Be Certain” became the second single in Australian history to enter at number one and was a top 10 hit in Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, New Zealand and the United Kingdom where it made number 2 in May 1988. The video was filmed in her native Melbourne and was directed by Chris Langman. Produced and written by Stock Aitken Waterman, the track features on her 7 x UK platinum debut album “Kylie”.

I visited Melbourne in 2016 for a few days, but it didn't seem that different to London. I think it was probably more interesting in the 80s and 90s. More distinctive. All cities are the same these days.

It's actually late 80s Melbourne (Kylie's home and where Neighbours was filmed, which was still doing at the time). But both cities were/are amazing (as someone who's lived in both!). And Kylie is forever amazing too!

Jesus I had a crush on her then, I still do today, 32 years later, at least I'm consistent A number of years ago a friend of mine had a newspaper up and was reading it in a London coffee shop. Some women just asked if it was okay to sit or was the chair taken at the table. My friend said sure, thought a second about how rude it would be to keep reading, so he folded the paper just to be polite. He was surprised to see Kylie sitting opposite him and then proceeded to have a nice twenty min chat over coffee. I'm still envious

A proper pop song. Saw an interview with Pete Waterman and he explained the lyrics, it is about a young girl in love and she wanted to time to make sure she knew it was real. The lyrics are so simple, and it makes them IMO so good.
