Kynynmont Kai is a 2015 Connemara x WB x TB cross gelding measuring 15h2. Gorgeous and unique “chocolate buckskin” color.
Kai has a large walk, swinging trot and a very comfortable canter! Kai did one show at Training Level in 2019, and one at First Level in 2020, scoring 70.83 (First 3) and 69.28 (First 2). Kai is ideally suited to train and compete at Training and First Level due to physical limitations and is priced accordingly ($15, 000) to reflect what could be a long, productive career at lower level dressage. We will disclose medical records. This is an excellent and unique opportunity for an amateur who does not have upper level aspirations but wants to enjoy the sport of dressage and a beautiful partnership with a quality horse. Kai occasionally has a small spook (typically when the sun seeps through cracks of the arena door) and is best suited for a rider with a decent seat and a sense of humor. Kai loves being loved on, is excellent on the trailer, and has a has a lot to offer the right person!
Kai is out of the same Dam as Kynynmont Gunsmoke’s Gideon, who debuted at Grand Prix at just 10 years-old and campaigned successfully in CDI Grand Prix under trainer J. J. Tate. The dam is Kynynmont Tara (1/2 Connemara, ¼ Canadian Warmblood, ¼ Thoroughbred). Tara is by the Connemara stallion Greystone McErrill, producer of top sports horses in the driving and eventing world. Tara’s dam is Irish Rose, by the Canadian Warmblood stallion Greystone John Patrick (who may have some Connemara lineage) and out of a Thoroughbred mare.
Furthermore, Gideon’s sire, *Gun Smoke, is Kai’s Grandsire. Kai is by the purebred Connemara pony stallion Kynynmont Cooper O’Grady, by *Gun Smoke. *Gun Smoke is a powerful and athletic stallion, magnificent jumper, and has produced outstanding dressage prospects, including Gideon (International GP) and Cooper (competing nationally through Intermediare I and is schooling the Grand Prix). Cooper is out of Kynynmont Moira (by Ballywhim Sterling Moss), a dam known for passing her lovely temperament on to her foals.
