Kyoko Date - Love Communication PV

On the 4/09/1996 Kyoko Date was one of the first Virtual Idols to come out in Japan. Also known as DK-96 (the initials stands for Digital Kid) released a single titled "Shining Like a Star" with a band called "House Foundation".
Two months later on the 21/11/1996 she had her second single (often mistaken to be the first single) titled "Love Communication" with a different band called "Summer of Love". In February 1999 she made her debut in Korea with an album titled "Between" which featured nine songs and changed her name to "diki".
This music video comes directly from the actual single.

The Italian singer Alan Sorrenti made a song for her in 1997,to listen it just serch "Kyoko mon amour". Ciao :)

different from a vocaloid in that she has a voice actress who sings the songs for her wheras vocaloids go through a process of having the entire japanese alphabet recorded as well as several words, the they all need to be compressed and digitized

Okay but they're both still Virtual idols. The technology behind them is different in the vocal aspect but at the end of the day they're still the same kind of product.

I remember it took me a few weeks to track down this single. I found it online via a import music store in San Francisco. I was luckily enough to find a teacher at my school that spoke Japanese that translated it for me.

So sorry for the late reply, I'm from Bosnia&Herzegovina; I got the school book from my cousin, though my school didn't use that one :( I was looking through it, saw her, and immediately Google'd Kyoko Date, and then found this :D It was my favorite song for a while xD

Kyoko Date was the 1st Asian singer I was fan of a very long time ago. 2 bad the project is stopped. After that I like 2 listen 2 CoCo Lee, Namie Amuro, Kristine Sa and some other Asian singers.

Of all the things for me to discover this from, it was the liner notes book for Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei. And now we've got stuff like Hololive, and from some other comments the daughter is now a vtuber too.

The Polhemus units of that time were too expensive and not as versatile while the ones made by some companies are too expensive either. I hope some company in China makes motion suits available to consumers. After all, only China can and does export autopilots for plane models to first world nations.
