Wow, that chassis looks amazing! I love the contrast of the silver and blue, it really sets it off nicely. Personally I'd leave the blue bits as they are, looks great as it is. I can't wait for part 2😉👍👍
Are you the one that bought the last two stainless cv axle assemblies off eBay last week??? The only thing I don’t have is the Kyosho Triple cap velvet coated big bore shocks. I should do a Rebel stream video build! I have the Tungsten carbide ball kits for the front & rear diffs. I have all of the carbon Parts ever offered from Kyosho including the upperl Brace, brace bars & carbon diff housings. I have a Mamba Max Pro esc and sensorless 5700kv motor I have the Castle Bluetooth B link I even have the Kyosho carbon composite chassis. I’m thinking Rebel video!😱🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
This will be a great build once done. The go ZX5 was a very cool race car back when I remember it hitting the market and the tracks. Great to see you take this one under your wing. Thank you for sharing and also thanks to Keith for his amazing generosity
Personally I would re-anodise all the silver bits blue, but that’s just my preference for a kyosho of that period. I would love to start learning about home anodising too which is a thing.
I'm a bit late watching the video Glenn so hope you get to read this. I restored one of these for my mate's son last summer and I found the manual for the kit version online on the Kyosho website. It was invaluable for disassembly/assembly but most importantly part numbers. Like you say, it drives soooo nicely.
Great video can't wait for part 2! I have the ZX-5 FS2 SP it's still very competitive amongst the current crop of 4wd buggies. I'd like to get a set of the carbon fiber shock towers and the aluminum camber plates do you have a link for them?
Try searching for Kenon Hobby. They have all kinds of carbon and alum parts for the zx5 , and if I remember correctly they also have carbon graphite shock towers.
Yeah the ZX5 drive train is very simple and very free. Even the RTR is very nice. It's a little late, but I would have suggested a stainless steel hex hardware screw set (rcscrewz for example, in "silver"), as it makes the car even more awesome 😊 Take care and thanks for sharing 👍🤝
I've had success removing anodising with oven cleaner. It literally falls off and then a little polishing and it's like it was never anodised! Give it a go. I used ovenpride oven cleaner liquid in a bottle. I love the old Lazer-ZX that was belt driven. This looks awesome too. Nice one Glenn, looking forward to the next part!
Glad you are enjoying the build. I knew you would. You introduced me to the zx5 and I now have 5. All totally different from each other in setup. Looking forward to seeing to rest of the chassis come together.
My opinion , but maybe you should have bought the CVDs too. The plastic ones do a great job for a brushed motor , but if you move on to a bbrushless one , i don't know if they will hold on , due to the power increase. Regardless , amazing video ! It looks like , it's gonna turn into a fine racing build.
Awww man, one car i regret selling. But needs must and all 😭 your not wrong about them being quick, had a 6.5 in mine and it flew, didnt seem like it was to much for the chassis either. Its looking great with all the alloy parts 👌 cant wait to see it all done, but i know its going to make me want another 😂
Hi Glenn from Yorkshire England cool car love your content keep it coming you're a lucky man Keith heart of gold and he's just as mad about RC as us nutters lol😂😂😂😂 rip it in bit and regarese it with new that's wot i would do👍🏻👍🏻
Does Sky RC only an hour away mean unretiring the TT02B for the day? Maybe even a new shell you won't mind messing up? It's still my favorite car you've done on the channel, and it'd be an easy cleanup. Maybe even get a chassis protecter or undertray made with your pull...lol
@@RCLegends2022 you too. I hope you've been watching the videos I've been sending you be nice to hear from what you think. Course if you get a second to tell me about it.
I still find it shocking how different a Lazer ZX-5 is compared to the original Lazer ZX. The original ZX looks closer to an Optima Mid and both of those look more related than an Optima Mid to an original Optima. Kyosho has a weird overlapping naming system.
